Lucan nips Novices 5-3
The Goderich Garb and Gear Novices lost
their third game of the young Shamrock
League season, but they are improving each
time out.
In a league game here Saturday, Goderich
watched as Lucan piled up a 5-0 lead during
the first half of the game. The Garb and
Gears then initiated a much stronger of-
fensive role, scoring three straight goals,

Lucan was full value for their lead
through the first half of the game, as they
beat Goderich in almost every department.
Right from the opening faceoff, Lucan gave
every indication it would run away with the
game.
Speedy Scott Smith took the opening
faceoff and scored on Jamie Redmond after
just nine seconds of play. Smith scored
again on an unassisted effort a minute later
to increase the Lucan lead to two goals and
he completed his natural hat -trick with his
third goal of the game, again unassisted,
midway through the first period.
Lucan continued to dominate the game in
the second period and increased

game. Jason Lajeunesse assisted on the
play.
Goderich returns to action this Saturday
with a 3 p.m. game against Exeter at the
