Hi,
October 1 is my first birth-
day. It is also the weekend
that mommy, daddy and I
are settled in back home
after spending the whole
summer • out at Poppa
Whalen's.
It was so much fun being
with my Poppa and I can't
wait until next summer
when I'll chase him around
the big old tree and pick
some bean houses and
friendly squash for myself!

4-H meet
By Laurie Hayden
On Wednesday, September
21, the •Port Albert Body,
Builders held their third
meeting at the home of
Tracy and Lea Anne Liv-
ingston.
Charlene Henry, of Anne's
Beauty Centre, was in-
troduced by the leader, Don-
na Hayden. She answered
questions about care of the
hair, covering brushing,
shampooing, curling and
blow drying. She also
demonstrated cutting hair
and French braiding. The
club members really ap-
preciated her visit.
Marcia Soak presided for
the business which included
the 4-H pledge, minutes, roll
call and suggestions for
record books.'
Members then. discussed
shopping tips for consumers
and participated in various
activities with curling irons
and blow dryers.

everyone and thanking Mrs.
McNee for the use of her
home.
The minutes of two
previous meetings were read
and approved. The

by Mrs. Girven.
A new stove was purchas-

church kitchen with the help
of the Inner Circle group.
A letter of thanks was read
frons Ruth and Jun Austin
for school supplies that had
been sent over with Mrs.

blade appeared to be made
out of slate. She told
members about some of the
customs such as, when in
mourning, wearing many
many strings of beads, tak-

Mary's presentation was
thoroughly enjoyed by the
