Ken Hunter, Commissioner of Works, says the town has budgetedover a two-year period to complete work on both the inside and outside of the library. A Wintario grant has been received for, about a third of the $54,000 estimated cont of the project and the Canada -Ontario Employment Development program is paying the labor for the butside work which should 'be completed by the end of October. This outside work includes replacing all the window sills and broken bricks' as well as installing new eavestroughitg, fascia and soffits. Hunter explains that, over the years, water has gotten into the sand stone sills and frozen, causing the sills to break up and become just like beach sand. These sills are be- ing replaced by new concrete ones and Hunter says there is no noticeable difference between the two. - Work on the library's interior will begin early next year and will include electrical upgrading, painting and carpeting. . The library remains open to the public during both the inside and outside work.
