Rink Rats take 1-0 lead
in series against Rebels
.The Rebels defeated Sherwood Express
Tuesday night 5-2, advancing to the finals.
The Rebels -Express series was a close
contest with the teams tied at three points
each at the end of last week's action.
However, it was the Rebels that proved to
be the better of the two teams.
The best three out of five finals series
began Thursday with the third place Rink
Rats taking a one game lead, over the first
place Rebels by defeating them 4-2.
The Rats jumped to a quick two goal
lead in the first period on goals scored by
Dan Maillet. Chris Pitre replied for the
Rebels minutes later, bringing them
within one goal, but before the period was
over, Rick Stahl scored for -the Rats,
giving them a comfortable 3-1 lead to start
the second period.
The Rebels came out fighting in the
early moments of the second period and
with their efforts came a goal by Mike
Wedlock, leaving them again, only one
goal behind.
The rest of the second period was
scoreless until Randy Gaynor netted a shot
with less than two minutes remaining,
reassuring the Rats of a victory.
Play in this final series continues this
week.

B r' . T Committee has just
c.'mpleted the tenth and
final 10 -week staff fitness
session. B.L.A.S.T.
(Bluewater Leisure and

members have represented
10 to 15 percent of the total
centre staffing population
consistently since Spring
1983.
Since the initiation of the
fitness program at that time
by Bluewater's Kinesiology
Department, activities of-
fered to the members have
been dance -fit, trim -a -size,
muscle toning, jogging,
swimming, tennis,, badmin-
ton and volleyball. Whether
the activities were in-
structional or recreational,
all were provided for the sole
purposes of increased fitness
levels, release of tension and
sheer pleasure.
The BLAST Summer Ses-
sion '83 however, was an ex-
tra special session because it
was the "Last BLAST"
before the Centre's impen-
ding closure of November
1983. Two sponsors were
generous enough to donate
prizes for this memorable
event. The BLAST Commit-
