Belgrave and Blyth were semi-finalists and the playoffs were between Londesboro, Brussels and Auburn. The games were played on the Walton diamond. Scores were: Auburn 7 - Londesboro 4., then Auburn won against Brussels 19 to 3. This is the first time for the Auburn Angels to bring the cup back to Auburn. Saturday afternoon saw the victory parade down main street and around town in the back of Bill Sproul's truck. Later in the evening, after a swim, the players and their spouses enjoyed a pork chop barbecue and corn roast at the home of Mrs. Marion Sproul and Bill Sproul. Players are Joanne Van Amersford, catcher; Linda Hakkers and Vickey Powell, pitchers; Laura Lawrence, Brenda Powell, Rosie Foran, Marie Brindley, Joyce Dickson and Margie Foran, infielders; and Anne Vin- cent, Joyce Blok, Anita Sowerby and Shirley Archambault, outfielders. Carmen Benard of Brussels, the league con- vener, presented the cup to Bill Sproul, coach and Clare Millian, manager of Auburn Angels. Tourney The Auburn Mites ball team joined in a tournament at Blyth last Saturday with the Blyth Sluggers and the score was 20 to 18 for Auburn in the afternoon games, the Auburn team lost to Blyth and Londesboro. Very in- teresting games to watch as the little players, six years and over, are so sincere and parents so proud. About 35 Auburn and district residents enjoyed a bus trip to Huron Country Playhouse, Grand Bend last Thursday afternoon to see South Pacific. Eight got on the bus from Lucknow. The trip was sponsored by the Auburn Women's Institute with Mrs. Tom Haggitt as convener. A good time was enjoyed by the ladies and some husbands and the day ended with a dinner at Exeter.
