STATIONARY ENGINEERING
Stationary Engineering - 4th And
3rd Class S
Practical training together with suc-
cessful completion of the modular ex-
aminations and the required steam time
will result in 4th and/or 3rd Class
Stationary Engineering certificates. The
intent is to offer practical and theoreti-
cal courses each term depending upon
demand. A minimum of Academic Up-
grading Level Ill or Grade 10 is re-
quired. All entrants seeking certification
will make their own arrangements to
write the examinations specified by
their local Skills Development Branch.
Adults who are not currently working in
the field but wish to enhance their
employability in the area may partici-
pate.
Most of the required texts will be
available the first evening for the
registered students at the Continuing
Education Book Store.
For Qualification as a 4th Class Sta-
tionary Engineer, the following Blocks
must be completed along with qualify,
ing work experience:
Power Plant Applied Science
Power Plant Chemistry
Power Plant Boilers and Auxiliaries
Power Plant Heating, Refrigeration &
Air Conditioning
Power Plant Electrics and Instruction
Power Plant Applied Mechanics
power Plant Applied Science
Blocks 641 and 631
Due to the similarity of the topics in this
theoretical course both 4th and 3rd
Class levels will be taught. Students
will receive one hour of each of the
following every evening they attend:
Mathematics I and II
Physics I and II
Thermodynamics I and II
Block 641 must be successfully com-
pleted before the Block 631 may be at-
tempted.
