suitable for anyone who is interested in
knowing about computers. Upon suc-
cessful completion of the course, you
will: be familiar with the nature, func-
tions, and components of a computer
system; be aware of computerized
teaching materials in a variety of fields,
know about available resources, peo-
ple, software, books, organizations and
how to reach or access them; be able
to evaluate microcomputer courseware
currently available against existing edu-
cational objectives; be able to operate
a microcomputer; be able to develop
one or more simple computer pro-
grams; be able to identify the variety of
forms of computer-aided or managed
learning which are being effectively
integrated into classroom curricula.
You will have an opportunity to gain
hands-on experience on the College's
IBM Personal Computers. The tuition
fee includes course materials as well as
a Hands -On Beginner's Manual and
sample software.

Bits And Bytes (Learn -At -Home) S
For those who wish to learn at home,
T.V. Ontario will be broadcasting the
BITS AND BYTES series on Wednes-
days and Saturdays, commencing in
November, 1983. This is designed• as a
self-directed "learn -at-home" course
consisting of the televised series of
tapes and various printed course mate-
rials. You must register with T.V.
Ontario for this course.

In cooperation with T.V. Ontario, Con-
estoga College will provide an opportu-
nity for participants to gain hands-on
experience on our IBM Personal Com-
puters. Hands-on sessions will be of-
fered on Sunday afternoons from 1:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in November, De-
cember and January. Participants in
the T.V. Ontario "learn -at-home"
course may register for these sessions
at a cost bf $36.00. An instructor will
be present at these sessions to review
theory covered in the televised tapes
and provide "hands-on" instruction.

TRAVEL CONSULTANT
Travel Consultant I
(Destinations A) A
This is the first of a series of four
courses to prepare travel practitioners
for the junior examinations of the
Canadian institute of Travel Counsellors
Incorporated. The Institute also re-
quires three years work experience to
qualify for its Junior Certificate. These
courses present a broad spectrum of
information in a short time span and
will assist those presently employed on
the industry. However, the first basic
course will also be of value to travellers
who would like to know more about
travel destinations, and methods of
travel and accommodation.

Travel Consultant II
(Destinations B) A
The prerequisite to this course is Travel
Consultant I (Destinations A). The
course is intended to be a more
advanced level of planning of complete
international tours.

Travel Consultant Ill (Technology) A
The prerequisite is Travel Consultant II
(Destinations B). Students will acquire
a working knowledge and understand-
ing of domestic and international offi-
cial airline guides.

(Counselling) A
The teaching of counselling skills, com-
prehension and usages of travel guides
and surface tariffs, principles of sales-
manship, construction, and costing of
independent tours together with effec-
tive uses of travel reference books.

and junior executives, first-line supervi-
sors and union leaders and members. If
you want to improve your managerial
and/or leadership skills, then you
should attend!
Method Of Instruction
Utilizing the seminar and case -study
approach, participants are encouraged
to analyze and discuss management and
labour problems and their golutions.
Class sizes are purposely kept° small
(15-25) to facilitate discussion and the
flow of ideas. Not all courses are
repeated each semester.
OMDP Certificates
Conestoga College issues an Affirmation
to acknowledge the successful comple-
tion of each course.
The Ontario- Ministry of Colleges and
Universities acknowledges successful
completion of the whole program by
issuing OMDP Certificates in Business
Management Studies (BMS) or in Super-
visory Studies (SS) through the Colleges
of Applied Arts and Technology.
