Play fills hall
The Auburn Community
Memorial Hall was filled to
capacity last Tuesday
evening when the comedy
play, Everybody's Getting
Married, was presented by
the Lucknow Agricultural
Society. It was sponsored by
the Auburn Women's
Institute.
Ross Errington played the
part of Reginald, a man who
had inherited a marriage
agency. He had to find

The Auburn Women's
Institute will meet May 17
and Mrs. Lawrence Fleet-
zer, public relations officer,
has the Blyth Fire Depar-
tment' lined up to demon-
strate the new fire equip-
ment they have recently
purchased. Auburn is in the
Blyth fire district.
Scott Arthur, son of Mark
and Mary Arthur, enjoyed
his sixth birthday party at
his home last Saturday. The
video tape of Superman was
shown on t.v. and birthday
cake and hot, dogs were
enjoyed. Thosel present were

Craig, Christopher Howson,
Ryan Chamney, Todd
Shaddick, Jason Clark and
Jason Crawford along with
his sister Rachel and brother
Joel.

Lions Club is planning a
rummage sale Saturday,
May 14 in the community
hall. There will also be a
bake table.
Nelson Moulden was
surprised when over 60
children called on him last
Monday to wish him a happy
birthday. They all sang and
each received a cup cake
with a candle on it. These
were made by Mrs. Allen
Craig. Nelson thanked
everyone for coming.
Eight building permits issued
Goderich Township
Council issued eight building
permits when it met in
regular session May 2.
These permits went to
Wayne. Chuter for an ad-
dition to a mobile on lot 75,
Base Line; to G.H. Stirling
for a verandah on lot 38,
concession 6; to Robert
Hartman for a sun room on
lot 76, Base Line; to William
Morley for a car port on lot
27, concession 1; to Tom
Penhale for a storage shed
on lot 4, Base Line; to Robert
Glen for a storage shed on lot
41, Base Line; to Doug
Norman to demolish a barn
on lot 13, Huron Road; and to
Armand Lassaline to
demolish a barn on lot 12,
concession 4.
An application for a
building permit from
William Kelm for a mobile
home on lot 10, Base Line
was held pending approval of
the Huron County Health
Unit.
Council accepted the
tender of Lavis Contracting
for the installation of asphalt
on the fourth concession of
the V.L.A. at a cost of
$13,996, subject to the ap-
proval of the Ministry of
Transportation and Com-
munications.
Council approved ap-
plications for tile drain loans
from Gordon Yeo for $12,025
on lot 29, concession 9 and
from W. Mcllwain for $4,025
on lot 12, concession 2,
subject to the availability of
funds.
Council accepted the
Clinton Fire Area budget for
1983 and approved accounts
totalling more than $10,000.
Sid Bruinsma was present
at the meeting to discuss the
progress of the S.A.M.
development and the sub-
dividers agreement. He also
requested council to consider
agreeing to issue a building
permit for lot 11 on Plan 502.
Council passed a motion to
have the clerk prepare a
report on the implications of
issuing a building permit for
lot 11 on Plan 502 under the
same conditions as a permit
had previously been offered
to the owner of lot 8 and -or
the possibility of rescinding
the original offer on lot 8,
since the time limit has
expired, and transferring the
same offer to.lot 11.
