A very successful
horseshoe tournament was
held at Agriculture Park on
Saturday, sponsored by the
Dungannon and Area Kins-
men. A very unusual ticket
draw was held for the winner
of the barbeijue. When the
winner, Pepper Wall was
named, it -turned out to be a
dog.
Tom and Verna Hallam of
Auburn, entertained her
mother, Gertrude Park, to a
Mother's Day dinner at the
White Carnation in Holmes-
ville. Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Culbert of Goderich were
also present.
Dungannon United Church
The Sacrament of Baptism
was observed at both church-
es in the Dungannon -Nile
Pastoral Charge on Sunday.
The children baptized at
Nile were Rebecca Emily
Archambault, Jesse Clair
Mahon, Jason Ryan McPhee,
in Murray, Tyler Rourke,
Jacklynn Grace Stothers and
Jennifer Ann Stothers.

Mary Bere enjoyed a
Mother's Day phone conver-
sation with her daughter,
Ruth Austin of Papua, New
Guinea. The call came at 5
p.m. Sunday when it was 7
a.m. Monday in Papua, 14
hours difference in time.
The Ontario Nurses' Local 52 recently sponsored a poster contest for the Grade
4 students at Robertson and St• Mary's Schools. The theme was "What does a nurse do?"
and the winners were presented with medals during Nurses' Week last week. They are,

Association
Propose addition to grandstand
The works committee of
council has been aksed to
review a proposal from the
Goderich Trotting
Association which hopes to
construct a covered area at
the north end of the gran-
dstand to house the group's
beer garden during race
nights.
Ken Crawford of the
association approached
council Monday and ex-
plained it hoped to construct
a covered area at the north
end of the grandstand
measuring 120 feet by 25 feet.
The open air structure would
be 16 feet high and be used
for the beer garden on the 10

member of the senior
citizens group.
It may be possible to
secure a Wintario for the
$8,000 project Crawford told
council.
Councillor John Doherty
urged council to support the
project monetarily con-
sidering the building, would
belong to the town and be
available for public use.
"The racing association
will only use the building 10
nights a year and other
groups can use it," he said.
"The Trotting Association
shouldn't have to pay the tab
for this building. It will be a
town building and there
should be input from the
town."
To hold track meet
The Robertson School soloists to the Walkerton
track and field meet will be Rotary Club Music Festival
held on May 18 and 19. The last week. They were Jason
