Hensall and 151 delegates
and members were present.

adopts budget
A request by Mr. John
Schoonderwoerd of Mitchell,
that a part of his property
located in Part Lots 19, 20
and 21, Maitland Concession,
• be rezoned from Natural
Environment to Extractive
Resources to allow the
opening of a gravel pit, was
considered by Colborne
Township Council at their
regular Meeting of Tuesday,
April 19. Council deferred
their decision on the request
• in order that they can visit
the property to be able to
better evaluate the request.
The Treasurer presented
the 1983 municipal budget
and it was adopted by
council following which all
required readings were
given to By-law No.' 9-1983,
adopting the estimates for
1983 and setting the mill rate.
The mill rate for 1983 will be
244.25 mills •levied on Public
School Supporters which is a
3.64 percent increase over
the 1982 mill rate.
The budget provides for a
taxation revenue on assessed
real estate of $730,929 for all
purposes.
• The by-law further sets out
the dates of June 23 and
October 20, 1983 as the due
dates for the payment of the
final two tax instalments.
One building permit was
issued to Wayne Million for
the construction of a
machine shed on Lot 10,
Concession 6 E.D. An ap-
plication by Raymond and
Lynda Allin for a tile drain
loan for tile drainage of the
South half of Lot 2, Con-
cession L.R.E., was ap-
proved, subject to the
availability of funds.
Membership fee of ,$15 was
approved for the year ending
April 30, 1984 for mem-
bership in the Lake Huron
Zone of the Ontario -
Municipal Recreation
Association.
