Throughout its memorable history the
most important part of GDCI has always
been its students and their_ success. The
name Viking is -respected, if not loved, in
all parts of Huron County and the Viking
curling team certainly, continues the GDCI
tradition of toughness every Thursday

night.
The only team to defeat the Foresters,
the GDCI Vikings were part of another
`first' this week as they shut out a team
skipped by veteran Ron Klages. Ron. ad-
mits his memory is not as good as it used to
be but, nevertheless, he could not recall a
previous match which resulted in a coin- ,
plete whitewash.
Klages and the AM&G team had their
chances to score but chose to blank four
ends in a row after the youthful Vikings
took a point in the opening end. Obviously
hoping the students would crack under the
pressure, Klages waited for the `right' mo-
ment to -take control. As he waited, the Vik-
ings scored six more points.
