Dave Graf scored a hat -trick to help give
Green Machine an 8-4 win over Ultramar
in Recreational Hockey League action
Sunday, October 24. This was Green
Machine's third straight victory in as
many games.
On Monday, October 25, Green Machine
made it four in a row as they out -scored
Garb and Gear 9-6. Ron Sowerby led Green
Machine's powerful offensive clout by
scoring two goals'and adding three assists.
Green Machine has to be considered a
serious contender this year as they are
averaging seven goals per game.
In other action Monday night, a two -goal
effort by George Goddin gave Ultramar
their first victory'of the year by defeating
Hodges 4-3.
Greg Burns and John Van Leo each had
two goals to spark Clere-Vu to an 3-5 win
over Bedford Wednesday, October 27. It

was the Wrecker's first win of the season
and the Flyer's first loss. -
Len Kolkman had two goals and Brian
Reeves scored two goals and added two
assists to give Garb and Gear their second
win of the season as they defeated Hodges
5-1 on Thursday, October28.
Wayne Draper scored a "fluke" goal
early in the first period to give O'Brien's
what they needed to defeat Sunset 5-2 on
Sunday, October 31 in a clean, fast -skating
game which was highlighted by Dan
Duncan scoring on a penalty shot mid -way
through the third period,
Thirty-five penalties were handed out
and 19 goals were scored as Clere-Vu won
their second game in a row by defeating'
Ultramar 12-7 in a game played in Clinton
on Sunday, October 31. Greg Burns and
Bill Crawford from Clere-Vu each had a
hat -trick with Gary Tebbutt 'and Wayne
Tideswell adding two each.
Pee Wees defeated 5-3
The Goderich Lions Pee Wees lost their
first league game of the season last
Saturday in'Strathroy by a 5-3 score.
Strhthroy tallied four times in the third
period to overcome a second period deficit
of 2-1 for the win. Darren Stanbury, Larry
Leppington and Scott Garrow were the
Lion goal scorers with assists going to
Garrow with two and Leppington with one.
The locals did well on the score board
considering they were handed 22 of the 30
penalty minutes called in the game. Bill
Trebish and Leppingtolt sparkled in
penalty killing roles.
In an exhibition game last Friday in
Clinton, the Lions defeated Clinton 12-3.
Scott Garrow had five goals and one assist
to lead the attack for Goderich. Other point
getters were Greg Alcock with two goals
and two assists; Bill Trebish with two
goals and one assist; Bill Whetstone with
one goal and two assists Byron Bowman
with one goal and one assist; Larry
•
Leppington with one goal; and Jason
Millian .and John Strickland with an assist
each.
This Saturday ,the Lions will get to play a
long awaited home game with Ilderton at
5:15 and then will be on the road again in
Sunday in Lucan.
