Hunters cautioned Each year, police and volunteers spend hundreds of man-hours searching for lost hunters and some of the searches end in tragedy. The OPP cautions even the most experienced woodsmen to keep a healthy respect for. the remoteness of the pro- vince's hunting areas and realize the problems that can crop up in isolated bush areas. The final thing to do before you take that trip is to make - sure someone.knows exactly where you are going. It's like filing a flight plan -, tell a partner where you will be and stay there. A survival kit, is another necessity. When you are in — -the bush, every member of a hunting party should have a container in his pocket with some items that will help him to survive. Most impor- tant is a Mirror, but the kit should also have fish hooks and line, matches, some light high-energy foods such as solid chocolate bars and foil for cooking.
