Eight ,tables played a Mitchell game with the average score (50 per cent) being 84. First East-West and first overall were " Louise Hetherington and Jean Papernick with. 1071/2; second, Pat Stringer and Verna Worthy with 94; and tied for third were Jean Cook and Cathy McDonald and Nuala Conlon and Kay Duncan with 90. North-South first were E;eanor Erskine and John Wood with 96; second, Audrey Tobin and Rick Somers, 88; third, Mary Donnelly and Helen Tench, 861/2 ; and fourth, Arlene Gibbons and Vic Alexander, 86. On Saturday, October 16 the club will host its annual Swiss Team -of -Four Championship starting at noon at the Canadian Legion Hall. For the past 18 months several Bluewater staff members have been going to work and literally having a BLAST. Not that every hour of the. 40 hour week has been' fun and games, but rather one hour out of an eight hour day has been set aside for fitness training. Many employees of the Bluewater Centre, who have recognized their own need to • lose weight, increase their overall fitness level .or simply to take a turn for the better by changing life style patterns, have done so by joining the B.L.A.S.T. program (Bluewater Leisure and Aerobics for Staff Training). About 150 individuals have registered in six separate 10 week sessihns since the inauguration of the program in March 1981. Gifts and prizes through ,. private membership funds, and a local sponsor, the Garb and Gear Sports Shop, are awarded to the three most aerobically improved praticipants of each 10 week session. Winners of the Summer '82 session were Darlene Groves, Marg Talbot and Dale Harrison. Each received a quality equipment bag donated by Garb ail Gear. Most improved participants For 18 months Bluewater Centre staff have set aside an hour in the day for .fitness training. More than 150 people have participated in the program since its inception in March 1981. Recently prizes were awarded to the three most -improved participants; Darlene Groves, Dale Harrison and Marg Talbot.
