which united in marriage
Joyce Corrinne Chamney of

The bride is the daughter
of Mr. ' and Mrs. , Stuart
Chamney of R. 2, Auburn
and the groom is the son of
Mrs. N. Koschman and,Mr.
A, Bloschinsky of London.
Rev. Bonny Smith of Aub-
urn officiated at the cere-
mony.
The bride was given, in
marriage by her father and
her mother. She chose a
sheer ganza gown with fitted
bodice which extended to• a
long hedral train trimmed
with Swiss guipure lace.
The Victorian style, fitted
jacket featured crystal pleat-
' ed trim 'and Swiss guipure
'lace. A matching hat with
Venise lace completed the
ensemble. Her bouquet con-
sisted of three mauve orchids
surrounded with white bud
roses, steplian,otis and
baby's breath.
Nancy Errington of Luck -
now was maid of honour. She
wore a mauve polyester floor
length gown with spaghetti
straps featuring a crystal
pleated sleeveless jacket.
She carried a white orchid
with mauve throat surround-
ed by white stephanotis and
baby's breath. '
Barb Pletch, sister of the
bride, Belgrave, Bev Maize,
friend of the bride, Orillia
and Olena Bloschinsky, sis-
ter of the groom, London,
were bridesmaids. They
wore dresses and carried
bouquets similar to the maid
of 'honour.
Kendra Bosman, niece of
the bride, of Holinesville was
flower girl. She wore a white
polyester satin floor length
two piece dress, trimmed
with mauve centred daisies
and velvet ribbon.

mother of the groom who
chose a peach polyester
sheer street length dress
with ruffled neckline and a
corsage of peach roses .and
baby's breath. •
The bride changed to . a
khaki coloured two piece ,suit
with knickers complimented
by.a corsage of yellow roses.
The • couple travelled to
Canada's west coast for their
two week honeymoon.
They have taken up resid-
ence in • London t since. their
return, where the groom is
employed at Victoria' Hos-
pital and the bride is employ-
ed with Diagnostic Radiology
Associates. •
Guests attended the wed-
ding from Calgary, Alberta,
Riverview,. New Brunswick,
Germany. Cleveland, Ohio,
Niagara Falls, Nepean, .Kit-
chener, London and Toronto.
Prior to ',her marriage the'
bride was honoured at'show-
ers by the Ukranian com-
munity of London,.her fellow
workers,• couples' party giv-
en by Nancy Errington and a'
community shower at Donny-
brook Church.

Knox UCW will renovate church kitchen
Auburn Knox United
Church Women met in the
Sunday School room of the
church for a September
meeting. Mrs. Maurice Bean
opened the meeting with the
hymn and Mrs. Jack Arm-
strong led in prayer. Mrs.
Ross Dobie and Mrs. Bill
Empey received the offer-
ing. The meditation was
given by Mrs. Maurice Bean.
Mrs. Bean closed with a
poem.
The \topic for the evening
was Church in Society and
the speaker was Rev. Bonny
Smith, the minister of Knox
United and Donnybrook. She
spoke about her internship at
First United Church in Van-
couver. This church along
with others was situated in
skid row to help those who
needed help and had
nowhere else to go. She told
about people lining up for
meals, f9r clothing, for
blankets and for personal
.:;help. There are numerous
programs the speaker told
about to give assistance.
Miss Smith told about her
work with people and how
one always wondered "Am I
doing the right thing?" Mrs.
Robert Arthur thanked Miss
Smith and presented , her
with a small gift.
The president Mrs. Arm-
strong led the business
meeting. The minutes were
read by Mrs: -Elliott Lapp.
Invitations included me to
attend the' Blyth United
Church 'Fall Thankoffering
on October 3rd and to the
Huron -Perth Presbyterial
meeting at Dungannon on
October 6. The treasurer,
Mrs. Gordon Chamney gave
the financial statement.
A discussion on the
renovations of the kitchen
followed and it was decideth
to go ahead with the work
but to leave. the purchase of
ovens until a stater date. It
was stated that a new
Vacuum cleaner was needed
and the purchase of this was
left with the executive.

and the Nile churches will be
'invited to. ,the Thankoffering
meeting on October 26. Mr.
George Cowan of Blyth will
be the guest speaker.
Walkerburus meet
The Walkerburn Club held
their September meeting .at
the home of Mrs. Leonard
Archambaault. Mrs. Keith
Lapp opened the business,
with some helpful household
hints. The minutes were
read by Mrs.. Lapp.
The treasurer Mrs. Ted
.flunking gave her report and
a discussion concerning the
Foster Child was held. It was
decided to continue suppor-
ting with the same monthly
payments. Mrs. 'Catherine
Jackson was the winner of
the, draw prize, donated by
Mrs. Archambault.
It was decided to have a
Hallowe'en party on October
26th at 8 p.m. Everyone is to
come in costume or pay 50
cents. This meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Joe
Verwey. Mrs. Tom Cunn-
itngham and Mrs. Keith Lapp
will be in charge of the pro-

An auction sale was held
with Mrs. Leonard Archam-
bault as auctioneer. Two
poems were read followed by
a name contest and the win-
ner was Mrs. Elliott Lapp.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Archambault, Mrs. Cunn-
ingham and Mrs. Keith
Lapp.
Lions snake plans
The Auburn and District
Lion's club met with dinner
served by Mrs. Donald
Haines' group of the Auburn
Women's Institute. The
president Lion Jim
Schneider was in charge of
the business and the minutes
were read by the secretary
Lion Donald Haines.
Lawn bowling ends
With the weather changing
to cooler days and the falling
leaves hinting that old man
winter is just hovering in the
background, the lawn bowl-
ing season came to a close
• this week.
It was far too short a
season for many who really
enjoy the game but one can
look forward to next year.
On Monday, October 4 the
fall meeting and pot luck
supper, was held in the
Meneset • Park hall with a
good attendance. After a
sumptuous meal, the
business meeting was held
w'th May Richardson, presi-
dent of the ladies' club,
presiding. The executive re-

report
A 44 -year-old Sebringville
man received'major injuries
Saturday night following a
motorcycle accident at the
corner of Cambria Road and
Toronto Street in Goderich.
Jeff Castner was thrown
from his motorcycle and
taken to Goderich hospital .
where he was later tran-
sferred to University
• Hospital in London.
Goderich police also i'fi-
vestigated a car accident
earlier the same day after
two vehicles collided at the
corner of Victoria Street and
Gloucester Terrace. There
were no injuries but damage
was estimated at $1,050.
The Las Vegas arcade on
West Street was broken into
on September 30 and ap-
proximately $10 worth of
change was stolen.
There were seven thefts in
total during the week. These"
included five bicycles and
two flags, one stolen from a
house and one from the jail..
Police also report one •
assault, one fraud, one
criminal driving offence arid
four incidents of mischief
and wilful damage during
the week.
They made two arrests,
issued two warnings and laid
three criminal charges, one
liquor charge and. 14 High-
way Traffic Act charges.

dancing closed out a most
enjoyable evening.

former town hall and library

Ladies Night was set for
December 1st and a New
Year's dance is planned and -
a committee was named to
get a band for this event.
Bingos are planned for the
coming months and the first
turkey bingo will be held on
October 8. It was announced
that the Lion's Club zone
meeting will be held at
Tiverton.

munity visited the Plowing
Match at Lucan last week.
Two of the competitors from
this district were Robert and
Bill McAllister of R.R. 2,

Harvest Home Thanksgiv-
ing service will be held next
Sunday, October 10 at St.
Mark's Anglican Church at
11:15 a.m. Rev. William
Craven will be in charge of
the service.
Members of the Auburn
Missionary Church, friends
and neighbours attended the
Open House last Sunday.
Rev. and Mrs. Dave Theisen
