Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs.
J.W. Wood of Goderich, took
command of the 4th Bat-
talion, Royal Canadian
Regiment, in a Sunday
afternoon ceremony in the
Prevost Armory, London.
Command of the London
and Stratford militia bat-
talion was handed by Lt. -Col.
F.B. Graham, commander
since. 1979. w.
At the change of command
parade, Wood was ac-
companied on his inspection
by Col. T.F.G. Lawson,
colonel of the regiment, and
Brig. -Gen. A.R. McIntosh,
honorary lieutenant -colonel.
Lt. -Col. Wood was born in
Norwich, Ontario in 1939.
After spending several years
as a member of the Royal
Canadian Army Cadets in
Goderich where he also
received his secondary
schooling, he joined the
Militia in 1955, serving with
the Artillery and the Royal
Army Service Corps. He
enrolled with "A" Company,
'Third Battalion, The Royal
Canadian Regiment then
located in Woodstock,
Ontario, receiving his
commission in 1952.
He has held various ap-
pointments with the Third
now the Fourth Battalion,
The . Royal Canadian
Regiments and •with
Headquarters, London
Militia-. -District-:-- He--"eom----
manded the Fourth Battalion
during 1973-74 leaving to
attend business interests in
West Africa. He has since
served as Chief Instructor
Area Rank and Trade School
and following an extended
absence, London Militia
District in May 1982.
Lt. -Col. Wood works as a
repair service manager with
Bell Canada.

Lou DeWinter, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Marcel DeWinter
of Goderich, graduated
September 17 from Radio
College of Canada, Toronto,.
as" an Electronics
Engineering Technician.
Lou attended St. Marys
School, Goderich and is a
graduate of GDCI. He has
accepted a position with
Audiovox, Toronto.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowler
of Goderich returned home
recently after spending a
holiday up north.
Trappers'
courses
offered
In a continuing effort- to
inform both new and veteran
trappers of dp-to-date
humane trapping techniques
and methods of pelt
preparation, the Ministry of
Natural Resources will
conduct two fur harvest,
management and con-
servation courses in the
Wingham district which
consists of Huron and Perth.
Counties, the Townships of
Huron, Kinloss, Culross and
Carrick in Bruce County and
Minto Township in
Wellington County.

obtain a trapping -licence for
the first time or any person
who has not renewed, their
old trapping licence within
the last five years.
One course is being held at
the Central Huron Secondary
School in Clinton com-
mencing October 6, at 7 p.m.

Secondary School in
Palmerston commencing
October 13, at 7:15 p.m.
