We are fortunate to have some people who realize the value of our historic buildings and work so hard to restore them and make them useful. In Seaforth many years have flown for those restoring the old Van Egmond House. There is never enough money to do this restoration. This is the eighth year of recorded struggle to raise funds to complete the restoration. But they are doing it the FUN way. They have a terrific program starting early Saturday morning Sept. 25 with breakfast, music and dancing and touring the fine old, old Victorian Opera House. Frank Sills "Memorabilia Parlour" of Seaforth's golden years will be open. and special children's programs with Mocha Temple trikers, horse and wagon rides and an old fashioned carnival will keep everyone happy. Starts about 8:30 a.m. About 1:30 p.m. a special concert of Canadian traditional music and songs from all our provinces, along with a special blend of yesterday's instruments and a touch of tomorrow's electronic sounds, will be held. Also a LIARS CON- TEST - take along a tall tale . - will be held. Old time music and ' a hometown band of international fame will be on ed in Ashfield Church Ashfield Presbyterian Church was the setting for the double ring wedding ceremony of Keith Elston and Barb Farrish on Saturday, August 7. The Reverend Hugh Nugent officiated. Organist for the ceremony was Lillian Simpson and soloists were Flora Wardlaw who sang Here, There, Everywhere and Lynn Richardson who sang Annie's ,. Song and, Perhaps Love. "-'The-bride is -the -daughter of Grant and Lois Farrish of R.R. 3 Lucknow and 'the' groom is the son of Bill and Isabel Elston of R.R. 4 Wingham. The .bride wore a full- length gown of white georgette over taffeta styled with a square yoke of chantilly lace. The wedding band collar and cathedral train were edged with lace. The bride also wore an imported French hat turned up at one side to a satin bow. She carried the Bible her mother carried on her wedding day adorned with • coral orchids and rose buds. Maid of honor was Janet Farrish of London, sister of the bride. She wore a coral full-length dress of crepe satin, brought in at the waist with a cummerbund: Covered buttons Op the side of the , bodice were highlighted with a bow at the neckline. She carried long stemmed pale coral roses. Bridesmaids were Mary Ellen Elston of Wingham and Susan Elston of R.R. 4 Wingham, . sisters of the groom and Mary Ellen McLean of London a friend of the birde. Their dresses and flowers were the same as the maid of honor's. Carolyn and Jeannine Elston of Wingham, nieces of the groom, were the flowergirls. They wore white swiss dot pinafores over dresses similarto that of the bridesmaids'.- They carried baskets of pale coral roses with brown daisies and wore flowers of the same colors in their hair.
