August 16 was sunny and
hot as 40 players turned out
for Men's Night. First prize
went to Ken Hall, with Guy
Kelly coming in second and
Bill ' Duncan, third. Other
winners were Bill McKellar,
Ray Cook, Jack Hinton, Dan
Stringer, Russ Gemmill,
John Kane, Don Stewart,
Stan Paquette, Ross Patten
son and Bob" Shrier. Closest
to the pin on Hole 1 was Jack
Gould Dave Cornish was
closest to the pin on Hole. 5.
Twenty-eight players par-
ticipated in Ladies' Night on
Tuesday, August 17. It was
beautiful weather and some
fine scores were recorded.
Winners were as follows:
first flight - Della Bedard,
low gross; Gerry Mountford,
low net; Doris Paquette, put-
ting prize; second flight Ar-
dith Brissette, low gross;
Janet Gemmill, low net;

Four ladies attended the
interclub at Kincardine on
Tuesday, August 17, Vern.
Frith, with only 31 putts, won
the best putting prize. Edna
Looker also won a putting
prize. Congratulations girls.

Pond life
to be
studied
A glimpse at life in a pond
will be captured at the Falls
Reserve Conservation Area
this upcoming weekend,
August 28 and 29. Day -users
as well as campers are in-
vited to participate in the
activities planned.
An early morning hike
along the beautiful Maitland
River will be the perfect way
to start your weekend! Join
in at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.
At dusk on Saturday don't
miss- having a 'splashing'
good time at- themoonlight
movies.
On Sunday at 11 a.m. you'll
be given the chance to use
that fantastic imagination of
yours and create creatures
of the pond. The clay and
equipment necessary will be
supplied so don't miss the
fun1 _At 1:30 p.m. that same
day, join in for a closer look
at life below the surface of a
pond. The entire family will
be sure to enjoy this un-
derwater adventure.
