The Goderich Signal-Star, 1982-08-04, Page 5Fina Sales DONALD C. ARMSTRONG Donald C. Armstrong of Goderich died at his residence on Saturday, July 31 at the age of 38. He was born in Wingham on August 11, 1943 to Cor- mack and Jennie ( Watson) Armstrong of Teeswater. He graduated from Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph in 1963 and farmed in Culross Township until 1973 when he moved to Goderich. He became co- owner ,of Goderich Fina Sales"and, Service with his partner Jinn McDoygall in 1975. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich. He married Joan Chittick, formerly of Wingham, in Wingham on February 27, 1965. She survives him. Also surviving are four children, David, Steven, Karen and Susan, all at home; his father, Cormack Armstrong of Tereswater; two sisters, Mrs. John ( Agnes) Lane of Listowel and Mrs. Jack (Jean) Watson of Etobicoke; and one brother, Watson of Teeswater. A funeral service was held at McCallum Funeral 1-lome on Monday, August 2 at 2:30 p.m. The Reverend G.L. Royal officiated. Committal service and interment took place in Teeswater Culross Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 3. Pallbearers were Jim McDougall, Paul Betties, Sonny Chisholm, Tom Christie, Morgan Inglis and Koss Pannabecker. MRS. MILDRED RIEHL Mrs. Mildred Riehl of Goderich, died in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Saturday, July 31 at the age of 70. s Service co-owner dies at age 38 She was born in Goderich on January 2, 1912 to Richard and Katie ( MacAdam I Oke. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Riehl in 1979 and one son, Douglas. She is survived by four children, James of R.R. 2 Goderich, Ted of R.R. 3 Guelph and -Pat Hildebrand and Daniel Jr. both of Goderich; her mother, Mrs. Katie Oke of• Toronto; one sister, Mrs. George (Helen) Hadden of Goderich; tWo brothers, Robert Oke . of Goderich and Russell Oke of Toronto. A funeral service was held at McCallum F'uneral Home in Goderich. on Tuesday. August 3 at 2 p.m,- The Reverend G.L. Royal of- ficiated. JAMES DURNIN James Durnin of Goderich died in Alexandra Marine . and General Hospital on Sunday, August 1 at the age of 66. OBITUARIES He was born in Dungannon. on January 20, 1916 to James • and Beatrice (Kennedy) Durnin- ' He worked as a mason and during World War : II he served m England with the rank of Sapper No. A• 48638 with the R.C. Engineer Lumbertack, enlisting in 1939 and being discharged in 1945. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 and of Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich. He -is survived by his wife, Dorothy Thomas; five children, Mrs. George (Pauline) Vanstone of Goderich, Ronald of Beach= gille and Mrs. James ( Suzanne) Farrish, -Mrs. Bryan (Joyce )• Baer and James Jr., all. of Goderich; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Maria.) Vanstone of Goderich and Mrs. Ken + Dorothy) Johnston of London: two brothers, - Joseph of Goderich and John of Dungannon; and 11 grandchildren. A funeral service was held at McCallum Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3 at 3:30 - p.in. The, Reverend G.L. ROBERT DAVID WESTON Robert David Weston of Goderich died in University Hospital, London on Thur- sday, July 29 at the age of 69. He was born in Goderich on February 27, 1913 to David and Emma (John- ston) Weston of Goderich Township. He worked as a fisherman. He is survived by one brother, Clayton of Goderich; a dear friend, Mrs. Georgina Kerr of • Goderich; and one aunt, Mrs. Eva Harvey of Palm Harbour, Florida. GORDON (JEAN) CLARK Mrs. Gordon ( Jean) Clark of Colborne Township died in Wingham-• and- District Hospital on Thursday. July 29. She was born to the Reverend Colin and Jean Russel) Young. She was instrumental in the'founding of Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute in April of 1948. She was the first president, serving for . six years. She was also the past presilent of West Huron District Women's Institute and servedas' curator of Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Tait Clark and one son John who died in 1980. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John +Joan) Gibson of Wroxeter; one son, James of Drayton Valley, Alberta; 12 grandchildren; and two /great- grandchildren. GEORGE KEKICH George Kekich of Port. Colborne died in Port Colborne General Hospital on Monday, August 2 at the age of 78. He was born in Gospic, Yugoslavia on October 16, 1903 to Duro and Marijia ( Rabatich ) Kekich. He worked as a labourer in the construction industry. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dora Bewzak on September 6, 1976. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank + Isabel) Phelan and Mrs. David + Frances) Bednarz, both of London; three sisters, Margaret and Betsy Sheldon, both of Kapuskasing and Mrs. Jack ( Ann ► Stewart of Cochrane; one brother, Tom of Powell River, B.C.; and four grandchildren.
