The program objectives are to improve the service,
organization and profit structure of retailers, tourist
operators and service companies in the program,
through counselling and the demonstration of new
management and accounting procedures.
The program will be coordinated by the Goderich
Economic Development Committee through a local
committee which will select 25 owner -managed
businesses from the list of applicants.
Each of the selected businesses will have its
operations assessed confidentially by a consulting
firth hired by the ministry.
Interested individuals from business and industry
are invited to leave their names at the end of the
organizational meeting or contact Larry McCabe at
town hall. The members of the selection committee
include Fred Durst. David E. White, Pete McCauley,
Bert Squire, Bob Shrier, Peter Shephard, John
Lawrence, Eric F'incher and Norman Pickell.
Participants will be selected from the list of ap-
plications by the coordinating. committee. May 10 and
counselling will be completed in June and July.
Follow-up assessments will be undertaken in October
and a wind-up dinner is scheduled for October.
Consultants for the program, Cermak . Church
Associates of Toronto, were selected from five firms.

Queen's Guineas
Competition
The annual Queen's
Guineas Competition will
take place on November 19
at the R yal Agricultural
Winter Fair m Toronto. The
guidelines on this competi-
tion have been sent out to
Huron County Beef Calf Club
leaders. Any 4-H members
interested in entering this
competition may check with
their local club leader for in-
formation.
The official weighing -on of
the steers will take place in
two central points in Huron.
