presiding. Secretary Evelyn
Errington gave a report.
Margaret Mole, club treas-
urer, gave her report, which
showed that the seniors are
working hard to become a
solid club in this area.
President Bowers gave
highlights of the Zone Rally
held in Zurich, which he and
treasurer Mole attended.
Bingo games for the public
were discussed, and presid-
ent Bowers is to look into the
details involved.
Trish Ohm returned home
last Monday from War Mem-
orial Sick Children's Hospital
in London, where she had

bowled for the Lucknow
Legion along with Joan Rob-

dine, Petiolin. C hesley, Sea -
forth. Clinton. Wingham and
Owen 'Sound as well as
Goderich, competed.

visited her parents. Howard

team advances
to provincials

The last meeting of the
Legion Ladies' Auxiliary
before the election of new of-
ficers and executive was
-held on April 13 with 52
members present..
The application of Mrs.
Audrey Fisher was
;resented and favorably
received.
President Sharon Scruton
extended birthday and an-
niversary congratulations to
those celebrating this mon-
th.
It was pointed out that the
plans for the Zone conven-
tion on May 16 were nearing
completion and all members
were urged to attend the
parade and meeting.
In the course ofcommittee
reports, Ann Sprung pointed
out than the euchre team of
Grace 'Mugford, Iris Samp-
son, Bessie Bissett and
Isobel MacDonald .has ad-
vanced to provincial level
and would be going to Tim-
mins on May 1 to compete.

members was still working
well with only 18 not being
picked up: All were urged to
'help out by picking up their
neighbor's bulletin when get-
ting their own.

The Westminster Hospital
veterans' fishing trip will
take place on June 9. The an-
nual Tag Day will be held on
Friday, June 18 and Satur-
day, June 19 and anyone who
could help was asked to call
the convener, Faye Shear -
down with the days and
times they could tag. The
many various events taking
place in the Branch during
Canada Weekend (June 25 to
27) weregiven and it is
hoped that everyone. will be
able to take in at least one
event.
At the next meeting on
May 11, elections will take
place and all members were
asked to attend even if they
had no intention of running
for office. The bottom line is
"we need you".
This was Helen Russell's
lucky night — she won both
the mystery draw and the at-
tendance draw.

Thursday of each week at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre,
under the Canada Com-

At present there are nine
participants attending the
program from various areas
in Huron County... Exeter, __
Goderich; Seaforth,
Kingsbridge and - Ilensall.
The program offers a day out
for the participants to
become involved in' social,
recreational and educational
activities. .
A need to expand the
program to more operating
days is evident, however,
this need cannot be realized
without more volunteer
helpers. Interested persons
are needed to assist the staff
in the day program and also
in driving the participants to
and from the Centre. If you
have time to share, please
contact Marianne Fremlin at
