treasurer Mole attended.

details involved.

last Monday from War Mem-
orial Sick Children's Hospital

three of the many bowlers
competing in the Zone C
Legion tournament held in
Goderich on Saturday. They
bowled for the Lucknow
Legion along with Joan Rob-
inson, Tena Gardner and Ida
Howald. Teams from Kincar-
dine,'Petrolia, Chesley, Sea -
forth, Clinton, Wingham and
Owen Sound as well as
Goderich, competed.
Sue McDonald of Toronto
visited her parents, Howard
and Marlene Godfrey on the
weekend.
A large consignment sale
was held on Saturday at the
Brindley Sales Yards. A real
crowd was in attendance by
the show 'of vehicles lining
both sides of the road.
Mrs. Florence Berry, al -
tong' with other members of
.her family, attended the
wedding. on Saturday for her
grandson, Douglas Dupuis to
Phyllis Ann McLachan in St.
Andrews Presbyterian
Church. Brampton. Douglas
is the youngest son of the
former Ann Berry and Ray
Dupuis.

Alma Caldwell of- Clinton
visited with his sister, Pearl
Caldwell.

team advances
to provincials

The last meeting of the
Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.
before the election of new of-
ficers and executive was
held on April 13 with 52
members present.
The application of Mrs.
Audrey Fisher was
presented and favorably
received.
President. Sharon Scruton
extended birthday and an-
niversary congratulations to
those celebrating this mon-
th.
'It was pointed out that the
plans for the Zone conven-
tion on May 16 were nearing
completion and all members
were urged to attend the
•parade and meeting.
In the course of committee
reports, Ann Sprung.pointed
out that the .euchre team of
Grace Mugford, Iris Samp-
son, Bessie Bissett and
Isobel MacDonald has ad-
vanced to • provincial level
and would be going to Tim-
mins on May 1 to compete.

pears that the May schedule

Iris Sampson indicated
that the trial method of get-
ting. bulletins, .out to the
members was still working
well with only 18 not being
picked up: All were urged to
.help, out by picking up their
neighbor's bulletin when get-
ting their own.

be held on June 6 this year.
The Westminster Hospital
veterans' fishing trip will
take place on June 9. The. an-
nual Tag Day will be held on
Friday, June 18 and Satur-
day, June 19 and anyone who
could help was asked to call
the convener, Faye Shear -
down with the da and
times they could tag. The
many various events taking
place in the Branch 'during
Canada Weekend (June 25 to
27) were given and it is
hoped that everyone will be
able to take in at least one
event.
At the next meeting on
May 11, elections will take
place and all members were
asked to attend even if they
had no intention of running
for office. The bottom line is
"we need you".
This was. Helen Russell's
lucky night — she won both
the mystery draw and the at-
tendance draw.

Centre for the Physically
Disabled Adult in Huron
County is now operating
Thursday of each week at the
Vanastra Recreation. Centre,
under the Canada Com-
munity Developtrfent[ ,'
At present there are nine
participants attending • the
program from various areas
in '\Huron County...Exeter,
Goderich, S.eaforth,
Kingsbridge ' and . Hensall.
The program offers a day out
for the participants to
become involved in social,
recreational and educational
activities.
A need to expand the
program to more operating
days is evident, however,
this need cannot be realized
without more volunteer
helpers. Interested, persons
are needed to assist the staff
in the day program and also
in driving the participants to
and from the Centre. If you
have time to share, please
contact Marianne Fremlin at
