GDCI placed first out of 19 secondary schools in Zone 78 in the Fermat Contest held for Grades 10 and 11.. students. Scott Wilson, Cindy Hayward and Teresa Cannon placed first, second and third respectively and will receive team certificates. Scott, and Cindy will also receive certificates of distinction for placing in the top 10 per cent of all contestants in Canada and Scott will be awarded the school champion medal for being on the Canadian Honor Roll, which means that he is among the top one per cent of all contestants in Canada. This is a significant Wilson, Scott Sto Shawn Doherty will receive certificates of merit for placing in the top 25 per cent of contestants in Canada in the Fermat Contest. GDCI placed fifth out of 17 secondary schools in Zone 78 in the Pascal Contest for Grade 9 students. Concerning the door-to- door canvass, the Board agreed to ask council and °mayors to 'declare October as Homemakers' Month for Huron County. Plans for the canvass involve contacting service clubs in each area of the county for support. Murray and Pat Gaunt have agreed to be Honorary Campaign chairpersons of the canvass. The new administrator of Homecare, Cathy Rutter came and discussed the annual contract between Homecare and Town and Country Homemakers. The Board discussed what can be done to impress upon the Ontario Ministry of Health, the need for the new Homemaker Services program in Huron County.
