Women's Institute to host birthday party
Church services were can-
celled at Dungannon United
Church on Sunday due to
stormy weather.
Mrs. Mary Bere has re-
ceived word off the sudden
death of Richard Passmore,
on March 24 at his home near
Grand Forks. B.C. His wife is
Mary's cousin, Elizabeth
Stothers Passmore, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. B.
Stothers.
Alvin and Joyce Moran
have returned from a motor
trip to Florida and Joe and
Harvey Sproul returned from
'Texas on Saturday. What
stormy, cold weather they
returned home. to.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cook
and family moved on Satur-
daas the house has been
sold to a Ripley family. This
house is the former Charlie
Fowler home.

from a three week motor trip

Mississippi and Alabama:

enjoyed a tour of the battle
cruiser, Alabama which had'
served in Vietnam and a sub-
marine which were both in.

Although they departed in
a snow storm and returned to
a snow storm, they did enjoy
10 straight days of 80 degree
temperatores and• sunshine
and no rain during their
5,000 miles of driving,

David Dawson and family
hosted a family gathering to
assist K. K. and Helen
Dawson celebrate their 40th
anniversary. K. and Helen
were married on March 25,
1942. Congratulations to this
fine couple and many more
anniversaries are wished.
The Dungannon Senior
Citizens hosted their bi-
weekly euchre on Wednes-
day, March 31 at the hall.
There were 12 tables in play.
High man's score was Car-
man Pollock. Low score for
the men wentoto Al Linskill.
The high lady's score was
Isabel Kilpatrick: The low
score for the ladies was a
draw between Roberta Lins-
kill, and Mary Loth, who was
the eventual winner. The
seniors have asked everyone
to save their Zehrs tapes.
Anyone with unwanted artic-
les or anything not being
used may donate them to the
seniors for thd41• ,upcoming
auction.

Institute was held at the
home of Mrs. Elsie Irvin on

Everyone was delighted to
have Mrs. Olive Blake at the
meeting. the first time since
her illness of several months.
The president, Mrs. H.
McWhinney, welcomed all
with a special welcome to the
District President of Huron
West, Mrs. Peter Chandler.
This year the Branch Dir-
ectors will acknowledge the
sick and shutins at Easter.
The Institute will be in
charge of birthday party at
Huronview this month prov-
iding entertainment and
lunch.
Mrs. Chandler spoke on
the accomplishments of the
Women's Institute, especial-
ly in the earlier years. She
also presided for the election
ofofficers for 1982-83 as
follows: past'president, Mrs.
Hugh McWhinney; presid-
ent, Mrs. Winnifred Girvin;
