Mrs. John Lyndon was
recently the lucky winner of
a free trip for two to
California for a week. The
draw was made at the
Haddassa bazaar in London.

The winners in the
Maitland Manor Residents'
Council draw have been
named. They are: Mrs. K.
Peterson of 344 Regent
Street, Goderich who won
the candy house; Mrs. Peggy
Lumsden of R.R. 5 Goderich
who won the ceramic
Christmas tree; and Bruce
Fischer of Brussels who won
the afghan.
The draw was held at the
bazaar at the Manor on
November 20 and the
residents would like to thank
everyone who participated.

voucher in a Goderich
Kinette draw held at the
Kinette bazaar on Saturday.
The Kinettes will display
and sell handmade crafts
and Christmas decorations
at Suncoast Mall on Satur-

Bill Peters, son of Penny
and Jim Peters of Goderich,
was among those receiving a
secondary school honor
graduation diploma from'
Sarnia Central Collegiate
Institute at the 25th annual
commencement November
21.
Bill is presently enrolled at
Fanshawe College in the
audio-visual technology
program.

Class Activities
Mrs. Pepper's Grade is
are talking about a famous
author named Beatrix Pot-
ter. Some of the books she
wrote are: The Tale of Tom
Kitten, The Story of Miss
Muffet and others.
Mr. Leggatt's Grade 8s
have been working on apple
dolls with a varying amount
of success. Some of the
students have fixed up the
dolls with clothes, hats and
accessories. The school is
looking forward to seeing
. them on &play. .

Mrs. Brown's Grade 3s are
doing projects on bears.
They went to the library and
used card catalogues and en-
oyclopedias to study bears.
Her Grade 2s are writing
stories on their favorite
sports.
In French each morning,
Miss Braid assigns different
pupils to do an
autobiography or a French
lesson. They are also doing a
play on a mixed-up weather
reporter, "Sol".
Mrs. Brown's Grade 2-3
class adopted a tree and put
a red ribbon around it. They
all help to take care of it.
For open house, they made
stuffed scarecrows of
themselves to fool their
parents.
Mrs. Rau's Grade 1-2 class
had a tea party. Sherry
Suplat was their princess
and Jason Voland' was the
prince.
Senior Choir
The senior choir is. being
run by Mr. Leggatt. The
practices are being held
every Friday from 12:30 to 1.
There are many students
from Grades 6, 7 and 8 atten-
ding.
Book Festival
Jn our library, students
celebrated Canadian Book
Festival Week from
November 16 to 21.
Students researched Cana-
dian authors and artists. All
the Canadian books were on
display in the library.
Grade 7 classes designed
T-shirt slogans to advertise
book week.
