WI meets On the evening of November 9, . members and friends of the Goderich Township Women's Institute (WI) held their meeting at "The Gallery", the home of Mrs. Lida McAlister at RR1 Bayfield. President, Millie Dempsey chaired the meeting and Berneice Mcllwainread the minutes and gave. the treasurer's report. A thank you card was received from the Orr family. All prre�sent observed one minthte's silence in memory of Mrs. Evelyn Orr, a former Member. Alice Porter gave an, in- teresting report of The Lon- don Area Convention, held in St. Marys on November 5 and 6. The roll call was answered by naming something that is free. Marian Powell, convener of education and cultural ac- tivities. introduced Lida McAlister who spoke about the "Arts". After the meeting everyone went to her studio - where the walls were lined .with numerous pencil sketches of her work. She explained the different techniques of her artistry.
