and ' District Hospital on
November 8, 1 1 after a
brief illness. Hewas8l.
A member of the Dungan-
non United Church, he had
served as treasurer of the
Church for over 40 years, a
post which he still held at the
time of his death.
Born in Clinton on May 26,
.1900, he was the son of the

psey.
He married Anna Hazel
Alton of West Wawanosh
Township on September 19,
1923 at the Dungannon Unit-
ed parsonage.
He is survived by his wife,
and two daughters, Margaret
Ettabelle Bradley of Goder-
ich and Lois Kathleen Thom-
as of Bolton.
He is also survived by five
brothers, Harvey Webster,
Kitchener; Stuart Durnin,
Victoria, B.C.; John Durnin,
West Wawanosh; Charlie
.Durnin, Port Franks; Ernest
Durnin; West Wawanosh;
and two sisters, Margaret
McNevin, Goderich and Hel-
en Wager, London.
He is also survived by six
grandchildren, Brenda Mil-
ler, Faye Rodrigues, Alice
Bradley, Lynda Thomas,
Wend Thomas and Jennifer
Thomas. Three great grand'
children also survive. Brad-
ley Miller, Blain Miller and
Jamie .Thomas Rodrigues.
He was predeceased by a
sister; Blanche MacMillan.
The funeral was held from
the MacKenzie • and Mc-
Creath Funeral Home, Luck -
now, at 2.30 p.m. on Wed-
nesday, November 11, 1981,
Mr. Cowan of Dungannon
United Church conducted the
service and provided music
as soloist.
Flower bearers were Watt
Webster, Lorne Hasty, David
Errington, Bill Sproul and
Ron Durnin. '
Pallbearers. were Russ
Button, Ronald Alton,
Wayne Durnin. Herb Finni-
gan, Bob McKinley and Jim
Errington.

Steven Girard Palmer of
87 Quebec Street, Goderich
died as the result of an acci-
dent at the Domtar Mine in
Goderich on Monday,
November 9 at the age of 23.
He was born in Scar-
borough, Ontario on June 30,
1958 to Walter and Eileen
(Thauvette) Palmer.
He worked as a miner at
Domtar Mine and was a
member of St. Peter's
Roman Catholic Church in
Goderich..
He is survived by his
parents, Eileen Palmer of
Goderich and Walter Palmer
of Kingsville; four sisters,
Mrs. James (Janice) McCor-
mick of Guelph, Mrs. Marty
(Karen) Baechler of Toronto
and Tanya and Sandra
Palmer of Ottawa; and one
brother, Michael of Toronto.
He was predeceased by
one brother, Mark.
Family prayers were said
at Stiles Funeral Home on
Tuesday, November 10 at 8
p.m: and a funeral service
was held at St. Peter's
Roman Catholic Church otl
Wednesday, November 114
2 p.m. The Reverend Father
A.F. Loebach officiated.
Interment was in St
Peter's Cemetery, Colborne;
Township.
Pallbearers were Fred

Mr. John Everett Taylor of
Maitland Manor Nursing
Home died in Maitland
Manor, Thursday,
November 12th in his 77th
year.
Mr. Taylor was born in
West Wawanosh in 1905 and
was the . son of the late
Robert and Mary (McClin-
ton) Taylor.
He attended U.S.S. No. 6
East Wawanosh School and
Goderich Collegiate In-
stitute.
On June lst,, 1931 he mar-
ried Verna Rutledge of West
Wawanosh. They farmed in
East Wawanosh and Hallett
townships before retiring to
Blyth in 1975.
He was a member of the
Auburn Knox United Church
and ,the Blyth United Chur-
ch.
The late Mr. Taylor was
predeceased by his wife in
1976.
He is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Clint
(Joyce), Gunter of Shining
Tree, Ontario; and Mrs.
Cecil (Lois) Hallam of
Meneset, Goderich; two
grandsons, Gary Prouse of
Clinton and John Prouse of
Goderich; two sisters, Mrs.
Pearl Rollinson, Toronto,
and Phyllis, Mrs. Emerson
Rodger, RR 2 Auburn.
Funeral services were
held at Tasker Funeral
Home in Blyth on Saturday,
November 14th at 2 p.m. The
Reverend Cecil Wittich of-
ficiated.
Pallbearers were Bill and
Keith Rodger of Auburn,
Gary and Clare Rodger of
Goderich, Bob Walker of
Owen Sound and Bill Helesic
of Goderich, all nephews of
Mr. Taylors.
Grandsons Gary and John
Prouse were flowerbearers.
Interment was in Maitland
Cemetery, Goderich.

Agricultural Club members
who completed their project '
by showing at the Achieve- -
ment Day will receive their
awards on this occasion.
4-H club members who are
12 years of age as of January
1, 1981 and are in 4-H for the
first time will receive an 'in •

scribed 4-H plaque.
4-H members who are over
12 years of age as of January
1, 1981 and have received a
plaque last year will receive
a mounted plaque with the
year inscribed on it to attach
to last year's plaque.
As outlined at ,the beginn•
-
ing of the 4-H year, PRE 4-H
MEMBERS (club members
who had not reached their
12th birthday by January 1,
1981) will not receive a pla-
que because theyare
recdgniied • as county 4-H
club members and not as
provincial members. Pre 4-
H members will receive a
certificate from the Huron
County I -H Club Leaders'
Association, recognizing
them as completing their
project.
Len MacGregor, Exten-
sion Assistant for Huron
County for the past 11 years,
transferred effective Oc-
tober 1, 1981, to the
Agronomy Division, Kemp-
tville College of Agricultural
Technology. Len will return
for the program.
A committee of represen-
tatives of the 4-H Youth
Council, 4-11 Club Leaders
and Junior Farmers are
busy organizing a presenta-
tion for Len at that time.
This will be your oppor-
tunity to thank Len for all his
work and wish him success
in his new job. Anyone with
an interest is invited to at-
tend.
Light refreshments will be
served at the conclusion.
CB Club donates to AFD and ICS
The Circle City CB Club
met November 8 at 7 p.m. at
the home of Mr. Rocky (Roy
Kaminska) and voted to
issue two cheques for $100
each to the Goderich Fire
Department and the ICU.
The secretary's report was
read by Graveyarder (John
Miller) and adopted by
Green Ranger (Don Bauer),
seconded by Gentle Ben
(Ben Prouse).
The treasurer's report was

Investigation continues
KINCARDINE - The in-
vestigation into the Kincar-
dine Police Commission is
continuing.
What was expected to be a
two-day affair has carried

continue in a public meeting.
The investgation is study-
ing the administrative ac-
tions of the local commission
made up of Chairman Dave
McKee, Judge P.S:MacKen-
zie and Mayor Chuck Mann.
The Ontario Police Com-
missiom decided to hold the
hearing following an ad-
visor's report in September
that questioned procedural
matters of the commission.
