BEEF STEW
21b, stewing beef (cubed)
1 can of tomatoes (large)
1 small can of peas (juice too)
1 small can of carrots and juice (or fresh carrots can be
used)
1 onion sliced
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. tapioca (minute kind)
1 pkg. of powdered mushroom soup mix.
Bake in 275 degree F oven for 5 to 6 hours.

CRUNCHY BURGERS
3 pkg. hamburg buns (toasted)
1 can Bravo spaghetti sauce (28 oz.)
2 cans Bravo tomato paste (51/2 oz.) plus '/z can of w ter
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1 pepperoni stick
11b. Mozarella cheesed(or more)
1 lb. Colby (orange) cheese
2 cups chopped green peppers
1/2 jar olives (sliced)
1 pkg. mushrooms sliced or 1 can sliced mushrooms
Mixsauce, paste, spices and water ahead of. time and
place in freezer until ice crystals form around bowl (about
an hour).
Spoon sauce on cold, toasted buns. Arrange meat,
olives, peppers and mushrooms. Sprinkle on cheese.
Freeze on cookie sheet. Wrap either individually or on
freezer trays.
These are very nutritious and crunchy.

POTATO VOLCANOES
11b. ground beef
1 Ib. ground veal
4.1 slices white bread
1/4 cup warm water
11/4 tsp. salt
11e tsp. pepper
1 egg beaten
1 cup chili sauce
2 tap. minced onion
Topping
11/2 cups hot mashed potatoes
Mix meat with softened bread and warm water. Add
remaining ingredients, except mashed potatoes. Mix well.
Pack into greased custard cups. Bake at 375 degrees F for
45 minutes.
Remove from oven and turn meat loaves onto hot
platter. Top generously with fluffy mashed potatoes..
Make a depression in top of potato, add a bit of butter and
paprika. Serves 5 or 6.,

HAM FLAN
2 tbsp. butter
. 1 cup chopped onion
% cup sliced, fresh mushrooms
11/2 cups shredded Canadian cheddar cheese
1 cup cubed ham
1- 9 inch unbaked pie shell
2 eggs beaten
11 cups milk
cup flour
1 tsp. salt
i/4 tsp. pepper
Tomato slices
Melt butter in a fry pan; saute onions and mushrooms
until tender. Sprinkle cheese, ham, onions and
mushrooms in pie shell: Combine eggs and milk.
Gradually blend into a mixture.of flour, salt and pepper.
(Make sure all lumps of flour dissolve). Pour into pie
shell.
Bake in preheated 375 degree F oven for 30 to 40 minutes
or until a knife inserted near centre comes out clean. Let
stand five minutes. Serve hat or cold, garnished with
tomato slices. Makes 6 servings.
This makes a great luncheon dish or even a different
breakfast: Tomato slices really top it off.
