How are you doing on your
float for Santa's Parade,
November 28? This year
there's an extra Christmas
treat for the kids- no ane will
ask your age! Goderich
Little Theatre - those busy
people - have the "Court of
the Emerald King" at
MacKay Centre. You will all
enjoy it Friday night at 7;
Saturday at 4 and Sunday
afternoon at 2 p.m. when the
proceeds go to the I.C.U.
fund for the hospital.
"The Intensive Care Unit
is as vital to the community
as the police and fire
department," says our Dr.
Hollingworth and a great
many people of this area can
vouch for this.
We have had our first frost}
- I didn't see any sign ,of it -
except that the trees have
become more brilliant with
more color. •Our famous
black tree at the comer of
South and Elgin Avenues is
fading to a shade of yellow
-ochre as the leaves dry and
fall. In the Spring it will ,
return to color in a brighter
shade of yellow ochre and
darken to deep greens, to a
black green at times it
seems a purply black. When
it reverses its colors back to
the Spring showing. Great to
watch it happen - try it.
The flower gardens around
town, including the corners
and parks taken care of by
our great parks people -have
been just BEAUTIFUL!
I want to say "Thank You"
to our town people with their
lovely home gardens - they
have put a lot of T.L.C. into
them and it SHOWS! You
will never know how many
people really have enjoyed
your work. You, too, are an
artisit.
Friday night this week the
Auburn Sunday School are
having a program at
Colborne School - musical
numbers and plays. You
can't beat the kids for en-
tertainment. Starts at 8:30
p.m. - be on time! The Town
and Country Homemakers of
Huron County will have a
variety concert October 18 at
2 p.m. at F.E. Madill School
in Wingham. Take a friend
along.,
The Seniors are having a
card party at MacKay Hall,
October 14.
October 31 from 2 to 4 p.m.
a Pumpkin Patch Tea and
Sale will be held by the
Salvation Army at their Hall.
There„ now, there's lots to
do - if you're not bowling,
curling, going to night school
-1 or doing anything besides
watching the T.V.
1 talked about a Mr. Cat,
one time, who was quite a
wild untrusting kitten at the
beginning of the summer. He
was, also a starved lookingcreture but you had to put
food out and disappear or he
wouldn't come near.. Now he
has grown up - and I mean
grown UP and OUT. He's a
BIG CAT' I think all the
neighbours feed -him as well
' as the extra helpings he
would get from one because
he would sit on the little table
beside my door and MEOW
right into the window -where
I could see him. He knows
I'm a sucker fora hungry cat
and has really taken ad-
vantage of it - but he also
