It looked as though their second game would go the same way as -Mepeset opened up a 7-1 first inning lead. But those Coyotes can never by ruled out. Greg Core from Seaforth won low gross for the field with a 71 and Mike Paquette came in second. From an interested bystander came these remarks, "There were a lot of beautiful golfers playing in the tournament.". The weather was beautiful for the Couples Invitational on Saturday, . August 22. Thirty-six .couples played with Tony and Della Bedard winning low' gross and John and Verna Kane coming in with low net. A smorgasbord of roast pork and all the trimmings was served by Sue and staff. It was a .delicious meal followed by dancing to a disc jockey. Thanks to Fred and Edna Looker and Bob and Joan McDougall for a well - organized tournament. On Sunday, August 23, the Shell tournament .was held hosted by Edward Fuels for agents and representatives from all parts of southern Ontario. Fifty . golfers en- joyed the course, food and hospitality of the Club. The Oldbiniers stole a run in the seventh to, seal a 2-1 win and now advance to a best of three series with Carlow beginning Tuesday night. It seems that street talk is unreliable so this correspondent will just go out on a limb and pick the Oldtimers to take the B divisiontitle in three games. C. division action saw the. Tickers eliminate Bluewater in two straight games, 13-9 and 17-6. They now await the outcome of the Cobra- Renagade series. Cobras lost the first game 8-6 in eight innings but won the second game - 7-4. The outcome of that series will be known by press time. Congratulations should be extended to Rene Arsenault and the Renegades .for hosting a fine tournament in Benmiller last weekend.
