Greg Bell of R.R. 2' Goderich graduated from the carpenter -basic program and is currently employed Tid Bits with Maple Components in Maple, Ontario., Paul Duckworth of 117 Elgin Avenue, Goderich graduated from the car- penter -basic program also. Dennis Hirst of R.R. 2 Goderich graduated from the Machine Tool Setter Operator program.. He is currently employed with F.A.G. Bearing in Stratford, Marilyn Kalbfleisch of Varna graduated from the secretary -shorthand program and is currently employed ,,with Drake Personnel in London. Barbara and Brian Pigg of 100 Waterloo Street, South, Goderich graduated from the academic upgrading, level3 program. Sfimsack Sompaseuth of 55A Newgate Street, Goderich graduated from the English as a Second Language program. It is a time focus to look back on the past few months and assess how we have filled ow time. Thanks to your help, many students are able to lock back on this summer to a job well done. We truly appreciate the face that you %ave given a student a chance to use accumulatedtalents and hopefully gain a valuable work experience. Besides the face .that the work provided an opportunity -for the student to use time constructively, the added income should be helpful in easing educational costs over the course of the school year. Civic Corner The Landfill Site Com- mittee will meet Thursday, August 27 at 4 p.m. in the Goderich Township Council chambers. The Goderich Recreation Board will meet Thursday, August 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the arena. An Ontario Municipal Board hearing regarding by- law 24, 1981 (the mini -mall on Bayfield Road) will be held Tuesday, September 1 at 10 a.m. in the court house council chambers. The Goderich Planning Board will meet Tuesday, September 1 at 7 p.m. in the assessment office. Four students of Sandra Taggart won prizes recently at the Central Music League competition held in Kitchener. Of her 19 students, Sandra picked out four that would benefit from the competition and all four students did exceptionally well. Marge Siert- sema, (front left) competed in an open class in organ music and placed second overall. Lisette Hutchins (front right) earned a 94 per cent average and placed in the First Place group. Anita Hamming had an 8 per cent in the organ category and placed in the First - Place Group. Bob Barwick also placed in the First Place Group with 97 per cent and won the adjudicators award. A wee sister for Amy. Spain reunion held The second annual Spain family reunion was held at the home of Mr. ,and Mrs. Gerald Spain at 192 East Street, Goderich on Satur- day,. August 15 with an at- tendance of 20. A barbecue supper, in- cluding delicious ham- burgers, hot "dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, sliced tomatoes and homemade desert, was enjoyed by all. F of A to hear Fred Lobb The Huron County Federa- tion of Agriculture's regional meeting will be held September 3 at 8:30 p.m. in the Londesboro School.' The guest speaker will be Fred Lobb, president of the On- tario Retail Farm Equip- ment Dealers Association. He will speak on "The Dealers' Point of View", about how dealers co- operate with each other and what problems they have trying to provide service td`' farmers. The OFA's annual conven- tion will be held November 24, 25 and 26 at the Toronto Holiday Inn downtown. Delegates to the annual con- vention will be nominated at the regional meeting. Anyone wishing to stand as.a delegate or regional direc- tor, but unable to attend this meeting, must send written confirmation of their will- ingness to stand to the meeting. Resolutions for the convention must be brought either to the regional meeting on September"'3 at Londesboro o to -the membership meeting on Oc- tober 22 at 8:30 p.m.'in Clin- tan. • Everyone is welcome to at- tend. 4
