Victoria Street United
Church in Goderich was the
scene of a pretty summer
wedding on Jul3( 25 at 3,p.m.
when Philip Ross Main and
Elizabeth Anne Morris, both
of Goderich were united in
marriage.
The bride is the daughter
of Ralph E. and Fran Morris
and the groom is the son of
Philip 0. and Joan Main, all
of Goderich.
The Reverend John Wood
officiated at the double -ring
ceremony. Organ music was
provided by Paul Howe of
Goderich. The groom sang
an original song, ac-
companying himself on
guitar. Angela McDonald of
Kitchener sang By My Side,
accompanying herself on
guitar. The processional was
the Wedding' March and the
recessional was Joyful,
Joyful, We Adore Thee.
The bride was given in
marriage by her parents.
She wore a floor length white
gown of pleated sheer with
pleated cape. Her veil was
waist length with lace
matching that on the hem of
her gown. She carried her
mother's prayer book
covered in lace and crested
with a white, orchid and
trailing lace, ivy and
stephanotis.
Marilyn Aubin of
Goderich, friend of the bride,
was maid of honor. She wore
a floor length gown of blue
sheer crepe with an attached
cape of sheer silk and white
accessories. She carried a
cascade bouquet of shasta
daisies, pink pompoin
mums, blue cornflowers,
stephanotis and ivy.
Bridesmaids were Gillian
Bain • of Goderich, friend of
the bride and Becky Lyn
Morris of Goderich, sister of
the bride. They were gowned
the .same as the Mai& of
honor and carried the same
bouquets.
Groomsman was John
McGuire. of Goderich,
brother-in-law of the groom.
Guests were ushered into
the church by Philip
McMillan of Clinton, friend
of the groom and Tim Main
of Goderich, brother of the
groom.
Following the wedding
ceremony, a dinner was held
at the church follo by a
reception anddark at the
Royal Canadian Legion
which was decorated with
fresh cut garden flowers for
the occasiOn.
The bride's mother
greeted guests wearing a
floor length dusty rose gown
of accordian pleated crepe
with a gathered bodice and a
corsage of • pale pink
sweetheart roses.
The groom's mother
assisted wearing a floor
'length gown of pale yellow
grecian style with sheer cape
and .beige accessories. Her
corsage was coral
sweetheart roses.
Special guests attended
the wedding from Calgary,
France and Scotland.
For a wedding trip to a
summer cottage at Port
Elgin, the bride changed to a
summer sundress of pink
ribbons and lace' with white
'accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Main'
will reside in Wingham.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was feted at showers
held by the maid of honor at
her mother, Mrs. Mary Lou
Aubin'S home; by Mrs.
Wendy McGuire, sister of the
groom; and by Miss Angela
Carter and Miss ' Debbie
Searls, friends of the bride.

Couple celebrate 35th anniversary
Untended for last week)
A family dinner was held
at Hotel Bedford in Goderich
in honour of Betty and Ross
Feagan's 35th wedding
anniversary. There were 25
guests present and following
the dinner everyone was
invited to Ruth Talbot's
home in Bayfield where an
open house was held.

Last Sunday morning the
Holmesville Church was
beautifully decorated with
flowers and candelabra,
placed for the G reidanus and
Bolger wedding that was
solemnized on Friday.
Rev. Bechtel' welcomed
everyone including iisitors.
Charlotte Norman and John
Wyatt sang a duet and the
minister's sermon was, The
promise of the spirit. Bill
Batkin and. Carmen Tebbutt
received the offering.
The community wishes to
extend their get well wishes
to Edna Jantzi who is a
patient in Clinton hospital.

Blanche Deeves would like
to say thank you to all who
travelled with her on Sunday
to Big Creek Boat Farm at
Caledonia. It turned out to be
a beautiful day for the
cruise. Mr. and Mrs. Albin
were happy to see us, the
second fun bus in two weeks
from our area, taken by
myself on a Sherwood bus.
Sorry we had to leave some
at home but maybe next year
we can go again. So thanIts to
all.

travelled to Nanaimo B.C.
and on the Island where they
visited with Ken's sister
Walley and Audrey Mot-
tershead and family. They
spent a month travelling
through the western
provinces and coming back
through the USA. While out
there they visited Stewart
and Phyllis Schoenhals in
Saskatoon, John and Marion
DeRuyter. Bob and Bill and
Edna Miller at Winnepeg;
Manitoba.
Mr. and Mrs. Graham
Johnston former residents of
Goderich township travelled
to Vancouver taking Mrs.
Johnston's mother Mrs.
Peter Young who is 90 years
of age, this being her first
trip out of Ontario, she went
to visit her sister who is 92.
They have not seen each
other for the past 14 year.
The Johnston's took the
North route through Ontario.
Bessie Black of Clinton is the
daughter of Mrs. Young.
While in Vancouver they
stayed with Lorna and David
Grovers. .

On Monday the Midget
boys defeated Tuckersmith
township, they play their
next game against Millen
township in .Londesboro on
August. 19th Their playoff
tournament is August 29 in
Benmiller.
The Midget girls game last
week in Londesboro was
forfeited. Playoff tour-
nament ha( been set for
midget girls on August 20 in
Londesboro.
• The Bantam boys had their
game last week cancelled.
Next game will be on August
19 in Holmesville against
Stanley township.. The
playoff . tournament for
Bantam boys is to, be held on
August 22 in Auburn. The pee
wee boys are at home
against Colborne township

for Squirt boys. Our Squirt
girls sporting their new
Township sweaters defeated
Stanley township in Varna
last week, next game for
them is August 19th in
Vanastra against Tucker -
smith township.
A playoff tournament is to
be held August 22 in
Vanastra for Squirt girls.
Varna is also hosting a
tournament for mixed Tykes
on August 22.
The Holinesville slo-pitch
team defeated Clinton last
week in Clinton.
Program end
The Goderich playground
program, Super Summer
Special Surprises, winds up
the summer on Thursday
with an overnight camping
trip to Point Farms.
The trip is for kids ages 10-
13, and there is a $5 charge.
Pre -registration is
necessary at the rec office at
Ronald Feagan Memorial
Grandstand.
The bus leaves Judith
Gooderham Park at 1 p.m.
on Thursday and arrives
home on Friday at 1:30.
