Tile drainage applications for loans under the Tile Drainage Act were approved for Jamieson Ribey and Thomas Moore. .. At a special meeting held at 1 p.m. on July 27, tenders, for . reconstruction of . a wingwall at the Benmiller pond were opened and con- sidered. The tendered bid of $23,387.50 submitted by T.M. & T. Construction of Bluevale was accepted. Work on the reconstruction project should begin soon and will take about six weeks for completion. At the- regular council meeting held August 4, bills and accounts in the amount of $46,081.13 were approved for payment. Included in this total was an amount of $22,200 for tile drainage loans made to John Hazlitt, Harvey Bogie and Cameron Bogie. The road superintendent reported that vandalism of road signs continues and that signs had been knocked down and re -erected at the• west end of Airport Road -and the west end of the township road between Concessions 14 and 14. In consideration of a number of complaints received concerning the positioning of road signs at the west end of the "Little Lakes" road, council asked - road superintendcent Ron Durnin to erect a stop sign at that location for the direc- tion of traffic coming from the east on that road. A letter received from E.W. Shifflett, P. Eng., drainage engineer, was read in which he explained that after examining the site on Lot 15, Concession 8 ED and speaking to the owner, Mr. M. Renon, it had been decid- ed not to proceed with a drainage report in that case.
