Goderich started the scoring when Bruce Melick made a perfect pass to Eric Mitchell who sent a bullet- like shot low into the corner of the Stratford net. The second goal was scored on an individual ef- fort by John Elliott. After he beat two midfielders, it appeared he was going to shoot, but he faked a shot, beat a defender and blasted it by the keeper. The next two goals were scored through pure hustle by Melick. One play ap- peared to be harmless as a Stratford defender was about to push the ball back to to keeper. Melick carne from nowhere, beat the defender and the keeper and tipped the ball into the rnrmer. Melick's other goal came after Randy Stoddard chipped an excellent cross onto Melick's head and he put it in the net. Stratfordput themselves on the scoreboard when a Goderich player failed to make a successful head shot and a Stratford player took advantage. The prettiest goal of the 'game was scored near the end when John Elliott saw Ian Chisholm breaking into the clear. He pushed it to him while Chisholm was on the dead run. Chisholm made no mistake and scored the goal making it 5-1. It was the 'B's best game of the season. Jeff Beachler played outstanding in net and made several spec- tacular saves. John Elliott also played a strong game. The United 'B's next game is in Grand Bend on Satur- day. Bruce Baker lands safe at second while Meneset shortstop Glen Schwartz jumps for the ball during Thursday's slowpitch game in which Meneset beat Garb & Gear 30-6. Lets take a cl9ser look at what could happen next Monday, as the 12 qualifying - teams begin round 1 of' the play-offs. In Division A, Meneset has a strong hold on first place and Port Albert Bulldogs have wrapped up second. Garb & Gear was eliminated this week when the Meneset Meanies thrashed them 30 to 6 in five innings on the strength of eight home runs. Garb & Gear extends their thanks to the Bulldogsfor putting Meneset in such a vengeful state of mind. Both Coyotes and Firemen could tie Signal -Star in points, but because the Leafs have defeated both of them twice, Signal -Star is guaranteed a third place finish. The Leaf - Bulldog series, to begin next Monday at 9 p.m. on the hard ball diamond will undoubtedly provide some great action. The Coyotes, presently two points up on the Firemen, could have their fortunes turned when the two teams meet head on, Sunday at 7:00 at GDCI. At this point it seems quite probable that the winner of that game will advance to meet Meneset in the play-offs the following night. Division B is an absolute nightmare to analyze., Wheelsmen, having com- pleted their schedule, will , make the playoffs or not, depending on the outcome of the Smiths - Optimist game Thursday at 7:00. If Smiths win, they will advance. If Optimits win, then we will -.see a three way tie for first, to be decided by the out- comes of the Optimist - Oldtimer and the Carlow - 1863 games. Should Carlow and Old- timers remain tied, Old- timers would come out ahead based on a 20 to 12 total run advantage in their two games even though each team 'has a victory against .Dungannon 125th Birthday Statement of Receipts St Disbursements FROM January 1, 1980 to May 26, 1981 RECEIPTS' Bar Sales ' B.B.Q. and Souvenirs Dance admissions Registrations Draws and raffles Donkey baseball Vegas Night Heritage Committee Turkey shoot Donations Variety concert Midway Miscellaneous & Interest earned DISBURSEMENTS Liquor, beer, etc. B.B.Q. and Souvenirs Bands Advertising ,_ Construction Supplies Rentals Raffles Prizes Parade expenses Donkey baseball Turkey shoot Licenses Security' Office supplies, postage, bank charges Accounting Variety concert Films and tapes Garbage Transporting Vegas Night expenses , Tickets, Insurance, miscellaneous Donations Net Profit Represented by: Cash in bank Inventory unsold souvenirs s 27,907.44 17,578.45 8,637.25 3,164.85 1,985.15 1,321.28 1,287.34 845.00 530.19 1,701.20 338.90 420.00 441.05 66,158.10 15,004.84 17,486.91 3,640.00 3,377.20 2,759.00 2,699.58 3,788.73 1,044.00 1,115.00 1,056.88 714.60 508.44 362.40 579.60 532.21 725.00 250.00 853.62 180.00 200.00 133.75 381.95 450.00 6,823.2,5 1,891.14 8,714.39 Less: Accounts payable 400.00 57,843.71 S 8,314.39 We have prepared the above statement from the records of Dungannon 125th Birthday `Committee and from other Information supplied to us by the Committee.'
