Aftger grace was sung, everyone enjoyed a bountiful noon lunch after which Myr- tle Johnstone, ' president, welcomed everyone in- cluding several visitors and Cataracts common past middle age Cataracts, a cloudiness in the lens of the eye, are common in people past middle age. An interesting display off family pictures and informa- tion set up by Myrtle Johnstone and added to by two guests, .Hilda TwamleY and Jean LePine created. much interest throughout the afternoon. Myrtl Johnston introduced her ta on her family research' "Ode to the Pioneers" which she composed. This was followed by a very in- teresting talk by Hilda Twamley which added new information to that which the Tena Staples and Dianne family already has. Games and races which were in charge of John and Janet Johnston were en- joyed. Races in the junior division were won by Jen- nifer Hutchison and Karen McInnes; the ladies' race was won by Mae Hutchison and Dianne Thornton; men's race by Donald Thornton and Kenneth Hutchison; ladies' shoe throwing by Thornton, men's shoe throw- ing by Bill Krotz and Ken- neth Hutchison. The sack race was Won by Dianne Thornton and Mae Hut- chison. The oldest person present was Mrs. • Marie Morrison.. The author lived with his wife and fami- ly in Goderich for several years after serving in the Canadian Armed forces in World War II. Jack entered the ministry in 1947 and has served four pastorates: Hamilton, On- tario; Springfield, Missouri; South Bend, Indiana; and presently in St. Catharines, Ontario. He has conducted evangelistic crusades in a number of cities intCanada and in the United States as well as overseas in the West Indies, Europe, India and Australia. `The Garden City Miracle" is an exciting story of an "exploding Church", interwoven with remarkable incidents from the author's life. It tells the remarkable. stories of a would-be suicide saved from self-destruction in the waters of Niagara Falls; of teenagers delivered from drug' addiction; and of attendance records that seem incredibleto- the average Church member. Several meaningful messages are included in the book including "Ten Words That Changed My Life" and "Reaching The Multitudes". "The Garden City Miracle" was printed and published by the Welch Publishing Company in Buri - ington, Ontario. They are Canada's largest publishers of Christian literature.
