Iliad the key in my hand.
It was very reassuring. After
a long drive, feeling' much in
need of a bath and a good
night's rest, I could use the
comfort which that key
represented. My friend had
sent me the key with the
message that I was most
welcome to use it.
I was TRYING to.
The key would go in the
lock, and I could hear the
bolt being moved, but
nothing happened to open the
door. I tried turning the key
to the left; then to the right;

then I pulled on the door
(thinking the latch might be
sticking a little), then I push-
ed on it. Nothing seemed to
work.
One or two people
gathered on the street. what
was a perfect stranger doing
Asying to get into that house?
At first no one ventured to
help, perhaps out of fear of
being partner to a break-in.
But eventually a neighbour
Came out to see, sized up the
situation, and came to my
'aid. He knew how to manage
that door: his was just the
same, he told me. A twist of
the key, a shove on the door,
and he was. in. "There,'4' he
said," no charge for the use
of my patent."

Problem solved.
What problem?
I HAD the key all the time.
But I needed help in using it.
And so it is with most of
life's problems. It isn't that
we haven't- the key to the
solution, it's just ,that we
haven't learned how to use it
properly.
And so it is with Christiani-
ty. Some people will tell you
that -it doesn't work. They've
tried it, they say, and they
know. All they need is, so-
meone, like you or me, who
knows how to unlock the -
door, to come and help.
Do you know any doors
that need opening?
