with Mrs..Oliver McCharles
of Kincardine the other day,
she told meabout the trip
she and Oliver had in June.
They were in Cape. Cod,.
Massachusetts . and • came
into New Brunswick and into
Nova Scotia and Prince Ed-
ward Island. It was - nice
weather all the time they
were away. They arrived
home about the first of July.
Allen Irwin and son Kevin
of Oshawa were visiting
their aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Wilkens the
other day.
There were a number of
people from this community
in Ripley attending the an-
nual Craft Festival Friday
and Saturday and the
barbecue on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Fells,
of Whitby and Mrs. Bert
Gammie of Lucknow visited
the other evening with Mr.
and Mrs. Wellington
Webster.
The community is sorry to
hear that Mrs: Bob' Macin-
tosh is a patient . in the
Wingham Hospital, She is
wished a speedy recovery.

SEAFORTH - Seaforth
skaters could be lacing on
their blades at the town's
new arena by January 15.
That opening date predic-
tion, the earliest possible,
was recently made by
engineer Derk Moat at a
special meeting of council.
1t was after, an inspection
in early June by Mr. Moat of ,
McLaren Engineers, that the
ministry of labor f'nndemned
lei a present arena. They have
ordered the building closed
no la ter than October 15.
