Beginning July 14 the
Huron Country Playhouse
will present "Chapter Two",
sixthteenth in the impressive
list of Neil Simon block-
buster Broadway smashes.
"Chapter Two" is a
frankly autobiographical
account of Simon's
precipitous remarriage to
actress Marsha Mason only
months after the death of his
much -loved first wife. In the
play, the characters are
fictionalized to a degree, in
that the hero is a" so-so
novelist aspiring to be an
important writer. The girl
he meets and falls in love
with while he is still
emerging - from his
bereavement is an actress,
recently divorced from a
husband she had put up with
`far beyond'thecall of duty.'
Through the insistent
offices of friends and
relations, these two are
introduced, both reluctant to
expose themselves to new
relationships after their
recent unhappy experiences.
But they are impelled
towards each other and
immediately fall head -over -
heels in love.
The writer's brother (who
had been promoting a little
leisure activity to take the
writer's mind off his grief)
becomes alarmed at their
lightning -speed an-
nouncement to marry. He,
himself, is a past master at
the art of alliance (and the
play's subplot deals with his
misadventures with the
girl's best friend, a lady
suffering from --her_ -own
brackish marriage).
Aaron Schwartz (George
Schneider) will have the role
of a widower who isn't ready
to give up his sense of loss
and guilt. Marcia Bennett
(Jennie Malone) will be seen
as the divorcee who's waling
to take a second chance. A.
Frank Ruffo (Leo) will
portray the adroit adulterer
brother and Barbara
Wheeldon (Faye) will play
the object of his lechery, in
one of the stage's funniest -
ever seduction scenes..
The Huron Country
Playhouse production of
"Chapter Two" will be
directed by Playhouse
Artistic Director, Aileen
Taylor -Smith. Mark Cole
will design a setting that
encompasses two separate
New York apartments
between which the action of
the play takes place. The
Neil Simon comedy can be
seen at the Huron Country
Playhouse from July 14 to
July 25.

the keynote speaker at the
wine and cheese reception.
Sabia, a well-known speaker
