The Festival was established ten years ago by the volunteer committee of the Gallery -Stratford as a fund-raising event to aid in Gallery educational programs. This year 60 craftsperson from Ontario and Quzs c, e iiosen by a jiry for their. outstanding quality of work, will display and sell their jewellry, leather and wood crafts, textiles, pottery and hung art. JOHNSTON Rex and Mary Ann are very Court news A 16 -year-old Goderich youth, who pleaded guilty to breaking nine globe maple trees on The Square May 24,. has been given a suspended' sentence and placed , on probation for two years. In addition, he has been or- dered to complete 250 hours of community work with the Town of Goderich. Judge W.G. Cochrane handed down the sentence in provincial court on Monday. Damage to the ,trees was estimate d at $387. Also on Monday, a Goderich man was fined $100 in provincial court when he pleaded guilty to theft (shoplifting) from the A&P store. The man was ap- prehended by store security on June 22. Goderich police say that during the past few months there appears to have been an increase in the number of people being apprehended in local stores for shoplifting.
