London Serbia opened the scoring midway through the first half on a penalty kick that got past United keeper, Greg Smith. United came back to tie up the game about 20 minutes into the second- half on a beautiful play showing ex- cellent xcellent ban control and speed. The play was started by United's keeper Smith who rolled the ball to his fullback Dennis Donnelly. Donnelly then beat two Serbia players, passed Off to Randy Littlewho beat his man and passed cif a low hard one to Rolf Gottschalk. Gottschalk in turn made an. excellent ,play, by not tow-hing the -kflowling. that. Ree Arbour was behind him,, Arbour.,in fall *ine, met the ball and sent it into the far -. comer, past a 'very helpless Serbian keeper. A picture play theway! Paul Donnelly started the play by tackling a Ser- bian player in the midfield. He gained control of the ball and sent a lead pass to Mike Hodges who sent it to Karl Krohmer who chipped it over to the other side. Handy Little must have jumped ten feet in the air and headed the ball into the corner, past a befuddled Serbian keeper to earn the tie. United's record is now 2-1- 1. They play this Sunday away to Slavia in Nilestown and then return home the following Sunday to play Strathroy. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. for all home games. GDCI athletes tops at WOSSA BY TD Eight GDc track Arid field athletes finished in the top six in their " events in the WOSSA meet held Wed- nesday and Thursday in London. The top effort was turned in by Rob Plunkett who won the 110 metre hurdles with a time just .2 seconds off the WOSSA record for junior boys. JoetiMeiady placed second in the midget discus event. Third place finishes were recorded by Debbie Mit- chelmore in the junior 800 metres and by Jim Costello L' the senior 110' metre hurdles. Kim Fritzley finished fourth in the midget girls 200,, metre run. In the senior boys' high jump, Dennis Rubin registered a fifth place finish. Mary Beth Alexander was sixth in the 80 metre hurdles.
