Seaforth pupils visit Huronview The highlight, of the past week at Huronview was the visit by the grade five pupils from the Seaforth School, who spent the day visiting and helping the residents in various ways. A special Mother's Day service was held in the chapel on Sunday morning, May 10, and Mrs. Elsie Henderson sang a solo,,, accompanied by Frank Bissett,at the organ. Marie Flynn, Stan Hillen, Kids in.ake lunch' for moms at school On Wednesday, May 6, the Robertson cast of Virtue and justice Triumphagain went to Colborne School to see their production of Virtue and Justice Triumph again. Colborne's production was slightly changed from Robertson's. Robertson's cast was interested to see how the play would be done and they enjoyed it! The Friday before Mother's Day, Grade 1 in Mrs, Scratch's class held a Mother's Day Luncheon for Mothers or Grandmothers: The night before, the children made their own lunch as well as mother's and had it ready when she arrived at noon. , Tea and coffee and a Mother's Day cake was serv- ed by the children. Jean Finlayson, cor- responding secretary, reported that she had sent out 125 Letters in connection with the Penny Fair. The draw for the prizes is to be. held on May 25 at Morris Draperies. Ten members attended the Spring Conference held in Exeter on April 27. The June luncheon is to be held at the MacKay Centre on June 15 at 12:30 p.m. Members may bring guests and tickets may be obtained' from Janet Kalbfleiseh. Mrs. Prouty conducted Bible Study in .the chapel on Thursday afternoon, and Mass was held at ten o'clock on Friday morning, while residents enjoyed bingo on ground north on Friday afternoon. Huronview would like to welcome Arai Devlin from Goderich, Edna Gemmell from Egrr ordville, Verde Fischer from Dashwood, Norman Walker from Bayfield, and Phoebe Brandon from Clinton.. Comrades having birthdays in May were remembered by President Scruton with special wishes going to Marion Harris who was 76 on May 4 and to Eva Smith who will be 74 on May 31. An- niversary good wishes were also extended with special mention that Alice Anstay liad celebrated her 49th an- niversary on May 4th. Committee reports includ- ed Comrade Annette Stemp's comments -that thir- teen Easter parcels had been forwarded to our Veterans at Westminster Hospital. One hundred dollars has also been sent to the Westminster. Hospital Veterans Comfort Fund. A report submitted by Comrzade Faye Sheardown indicated that she had remembered ten ill Branch or Auxiliary members with cards and . gifts,. as well as many personal visits to others sick at home and in the hospital. Comrade Jean Elliott had remembered several Branch' and Aux- iliary members who were hospitalized out-of-town. Outgoing Sports Officer Peg WWI reported that the bowling team of Lorraine Jones, Ann Sprung, Donna Duncan, Anne McCartney, Rose Sheardown and herself placed fourth at the Woodstock Invitational Tournament and that Lor- raine had won the high single for the day. President Sharon thanked Comrade Peg for her work over the past year.
