RONALD CHARLES RITCHIE ( Photo by Hadden's Studio) Blyth ceremony, Blyth United Church was decorated with single yellow. roses tied with blue bows on each pew for the wedding ceremony of .Ronald Charles -Ritchie of Blyth and Doreen Anne Hartin of R.R. Dungannon on Saturday, r April 11 at 3:30 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Hartin of R.R 1 Dungannon and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Ritchie of Blyth. The Reverend Cecil Wittich officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony included the theme from Love Story and Always. The bride was . given in , marriage by her father. She wore a gownof white crystallite imported from England featuring - a Vic- torian neckline, an empire waist and long straight sleeves gathered at the cuffs. On the front of the bodice and down the back were ap- pliques of French lace. The empire waist, cuffs off the sleeves and scallops half way down the Skirt which fell into a long chapel train, were trimmed with matching daisies. The bride's head- dress, a Juliette cap, held in place her two tiered veil. The edge of the veil was trimmed with tiny daisies. The bride carried a bouquet of blue, white and pale yellow silk roses, daisies and stephanotis with blue streamers. Maid of honor was Lise Gunby, friend of the bride of Toronto. She wore a yellow pleated gown of polyester Vat with a lace flounce and carried a basket of yellow and white silk daisies, roses and stephanotis with blue streamers. Bridesmaids were Karen Ritchie, sister of the, -groom of Blyth, Sherry Richmond, friend of the bride of London and Anne Edwards, cousin of the bride of Haliburton. They were gowned the same as the maid of honor but in blue and carried identical baskets of flowers. They also wore flowers in their hair. Groomsman was Brian Riehl, friend of the groom of London. Guests were ushered into the church by Dave and Dan Hartin; brothers of the bride of .Dungannon . and Terry Ritchie, brother of the groom ofFolowing the wedding ceremony, a reception was held -at the'BlytirComrnunity Center. George . Arnott of Fenwick, uncleof the bride, was the master of ceremonies. The bride's . mother greeted guests wearing a turquoise pleated street length dress of polyester with a corsage of mauve and pink roses. The groom's mother assisted wearing a pale blue' polyester street length dress with darker blue flowers and a corsage of pink silk roses. Honored guests at " the wedding and reception in- cluded Mrs. Phil Dawson of Wingham, grandmother of the groom; Mrs. M. Hartin of Welland, grandmother) of the bride; and Mrs. J. Arnott of St: Catharines, grandmother of the bride. For a wedding trip _ to Eastern , Ontario, the bride changed to a brown tweed pantsuit with yellow feather pin and tan accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie are residing on Queen Street in Blyth. Prior to her wedding, the tride was feted at a neigh- bourhood shower given by Lise and Sheila Gunby of R.R. 1 Dungannon, at a shower in Blyth hosted by Mrs. Thelma MacDougal, and at a co-workers shower given by Mrs. Brenda Burma in Goderich. Couple wed in Calgary , Our_ Lades -oi Perpetual Help, Roman Catholic Chur- ch, Calgary, Alberta, was the scene on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1981, of the marriage between Cathie Anne Bodnarchuk, daughter of Boris and Moira Bodnarchuk of Calgary, and Ralph Edward Austin, son off John Austin and the. late Grace Austin of Ashfield Township. 1 _ ._ .. , .... The double ring ceremony IODE sponsors class The May meeting of the Maple Leaf Chapter IODE was held in the Community Room, at the Ronald Feagan °Ivlemorial Grandstand. Regent, Mrs. Linda Murphy presided. Education secretary, Mrs. Barbara Hunter, gave a report on the IODE project, "Adopt a Class". Maple Leaf Chapter will sponsor a grade 5 class at the Robert Leckie School, Goose Bay, Labrador. Services secretary, Mrs. Evelyn Sandy reported on the concern for Children genetic counselling clinic ink Thunder Bay. Funds were voted to this project. Mrs. Doreen Garrow reported on the success of the babysitting course held once a week for six weeks at Robertson School. Sincere appreciation was extended to all guest lecturers. Miss Elizabeth Cochrane, R.N. attended the' meeting. She showed slides ea iV4 Labrador and St. John's, Newfoundland and gave an interesting commentary on living and working in this part of Canada. This year marks the eightieth anniversary of the Maple Leaf Chapter. A din- ner will beeheld in the fail to celebrate this occasion. The annual garage sale will be held on May 30 at the home of Mrs. Helen McManus, 16 Wellington Street South. Four Girl Guides were guests at the meeting. Regent Mrs. Linda Murphy worked with the girls helping them earn their citizenship badges. A pot luck supper at the cottage of Mrs. Ruth Ross, Mid. Huron Beach will be held in June.
