by a Liberal member, the outcome was a far cry from
the previous election in June 1977, when Mr: Gaunt
trounced Kincardine --developer Sam MacGregor
17,356 'votes to 7,523. The NDP, represented by Dave
Zyluk, garnered 1,754 votes in that election.
Council expenses
over $7;000
Goderich-.town councilspentover $7,000 in expenses
for councillors attending conferences and seminars
during the 19790 term. -
A sununary of travel expenses indicated that $7,056
was spent for councillors attending out of town
conferences and Seminars in the two-year period:
Former reeve Eileen Palmer had approved ex-
penses of $2,193 for the period, most of which was
spent attending conferences sponsored 'by the
Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
Palmer was on the AMO board of directors during her
term as reeve.
_Councillor Elsa Haydon logged $2,077 in expenses
while attending several Ontario Parks Association
meetings. Mrs. Haydon is the president of that
Ontario organization.
Other approved expense expenditures included;
Mayor Harry Worsen, $1,289; deputy -reeve Bob
Allen, $775; Stan Profit, $336; Brian Knights, $102 and
Jim Searls, $280.
Councillors John Doherty and Jim Magee had no
expenses during the two-year period.

renowned Passion Play
presented last year in
Oberammergau, Germany
were shown by Mrs. Mary
Wightman of Blyth at the
March meeting of the
Auburn Women's Institute'
held in the Community
Memorial Hall. She gave an
interesting commentary on
the.trip-which she had taken
last year to see the play
which is -presented every 10.
years. The pictures showed
.the crucifixion of Christ and
told the Easter story in a
very interesting way.
The meeting was in the
charge of the Education and
Cultural Activities,con-
veners, ' Mrs. Emrson
Rodger and Mrs. Hugh Ben-
nett. Mrs. Bennett introduc-
ed Mrs. Wightman and she
was presented with, a , gift
and thanked by Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock.
The meeting was opened
with the Ode, Mary Stewart
Collect and 0 Canada, with
-Mrs.-Catherine Jackson as -
pianist. The president, Mrs.

Song of Spring". The
