ele$ion night party
Thursday night, they can be
proud to be Conservatives.
He said Premier William
Davis has made tremendous
gains in almost every riding
and "it'll be our turn in four
years in Huron -Bruce."
Harron told about 50 .cam-
paign workers and party
supporters gathered at the
Lucknow'District Communi-
ty Centre that the party will
start to paint the riding blue
in the next election.
"Let's not give up hope
yet," said Harron. "We've
come from quite a deficit."
Harron said the Con-
servatives are knocking on
the door in this riding and in
four years they are going to
do it.
The battle between Har-
ron's chief opponent Murray
Elston for the Liberals see-
sawed back and forth
throughout the night. At one
point ' Harron's workers had
Harron down by only 100
votes and the results from
Port Elgin in Harron's home
territory were still to come
in. The final vote of the
night, however, showed
Dog finds
lost girl
LISTOWEL - It was the OPP
tracking dog Trapper to the
rescue on March 16.
Trapper and his handler
Constable Glen O'Rourke of
the Mount Forest OPP were
successful in locating little
Yvonne Marion Jantzi who
had wandered away from
her parents' farm in the
Brunner area.
The 21/2 -year-old child was
playing outside and .wan-
dered off. It was feared that
she had fallen in the creek
which runs the length of the
Jantzi farm.
However, she was found by
Trapper and Constable
O'Rourke about three-
quarters of a mile from the
Jantzi farm. The girl was
found, crying and soaking
wet in an abandoned manure
spreader.
It is believed she crossed
to the other side of the creek
by a small bridge, and at
some point had been in the
two -foot deep creek.
Trapper was able to pick
up the child's scent from the
air and Yvonne was quickly
wrapped in the constable's
coat and taken to a nearby
douse where she was
• reunited with her pa rents.

Mose a tally to concede and
decided to wait for the of-
ficial results Saturday morn-
ing.
He was meeting with cam-
paign workers on Monday to
decide whether to ask for a
recount when the . final
results showed the count to
be closer with Elston leading
by only 224 votes.
Harron remarked that he
and his supporters had given
the Liberals. a good run.
because they had reduced
the Liberal margin from
14,000 votes carried by Mur-
ray Gaunt in the last election
to only a slim 224 votes.
One campaign worker
commented it would have
been easier to lose by 2,000
votes than lose by only 200.
"It leaves you wondering
which doors you should have
knocked on to make the dif-
ference," she added.
