game at 1:29 of the first
period on a wrist shot, John

play. The Flyers went ahead
Bantams hang up
skates for season
'The' Goderich Bantams
have hung up their skates for
another season after losing
games at their Shamrock
League bantam playoff
tournament March 7 in Mt.
Budges.
The local team lost their
first match to Belmont by a
close score of 5-4, and fell to
defeat to Lucan 9-6.
In the first game, Goderich
came from behind in the
third period, but couldn't
manage to tie the game. It
was 1-1 at the end of the first
period with Goderich's goal
being scored by John
Thompson assisted by
Trevor Erb.
The second period saw
Belmont score three in a row
to take a 4-I lead before
Goderich could score their
second from Thompson and
Erb again,
Belmont went ahead 5-2 in
the third, then the local
Bantams' Peter Stahl scored
one on a play set hp- by Rob
Gibbons and Scott Stokes.
Stahl scored another on the
very next play from Stokes
to make it 5-4, but they
couldn't net another one to
tie the game.
Goderich gave up a 5-3
lead in the second period
against Lucan to have six
goals scored on them before
the game ended. Lucan
scored the first of the game
only to have Peter Stahl net
the tieing goal on a play Set
up by Trevor Erb.
Stahl notched another one
unassisted to make it 2-1,
then Erb tallied one to put
the locals ahead by two. With
25 seconds left in the first
period, Lucan scored their
second.
John Thompson made it 4-2
for the Bantams in the
second period on a play set
up by Stahl and Erb. Lucan
scored less than a minute
later only to have Stahl score
his third of the game and
fifth of the tournament.
Lucan poured it on and
scored four in a row before
Robbie Gibbonscould net
Goderich's sixth and last
game. •
CCAT scored four more
limes before the first period
was out to take a 5-2 ,lead.
Fifty-two seconds into the
second period, they scored
another one.
The next ten minutes went
scoreless until Bruce
goal assisted by Stahl. Lucan
Bowman shovelled one in for

Phil Paquette took a pass
from Rick Rawson to notch a
goal for the Flyers and bring
them within one goal once
more. But CCAT wouldn't let
up and got another one past
Bedard.
With less than five minutes
remaining in regulatioh
time, Standen made it 7-6
after Bill Lewis set him up on
a play. At 17:02, Len Kollt-•
man's unassisted effort tied
the game at seven goals
apiece.
