However, when they arrived in the area they discovered that there were enough workers at the farm, therefore they stayed over in the village for the weekend before moving on to another farm in Wingham. In Wingham they found work on the farm of Stanley Marks. Mrs. Kolkman remembers their time on this farm as being time well spent. Their stay in this area was also shortlived as there was not enough work during the winter months to support the family. Next it was on to Saltford where Mr. Kolkman got work on the Bissel dairy farm. `That was one big place. Everything worked out well, it was a nice place and a good farm," Mrs. Kolkman stated, very Clinton is a nice place to live, save Mrs. Kolkman rewarding. adding that there were .60 cows to be milked and cream to be -made at this job. It was during their three years at this farm that the Kolkmans were reunited with other Vroomshoop citizens. Herman Schoemaker was the first to make the trip to Saltford. Mrs. Kolkman noted that it was nice to be able to 'go to this church because Dutch people from all: over the area showed up for the Sunday services.
