A garden's success depends — to a large

When garden soils are depleted, ;rowing
plants are under greater stress and are
more vulnerable to insects and disease.
Weaker plants may require fungicides
and insecticides to help ward off disease —

"Section III, the legume vegetables', sec-

this type of rotation program, but check the
acidity level in the soil: if required, add
some lime," Langenberg said.

Spring Fever
So you're going to have a garden
with flowers and things -to eat?
Well. you had better start to make your
plans -
and get up on your feet.
For there are many things
you're goung to need — like
peat and pots and seeds and a good
sharp hoe,
and herbicides to eliminate the weeds.
Other things you'll need to have are
fertilizer, a sprayer, a duster, -
a spade, a fork, a rake,
and all the strength that you can
muster,'
gloves for your hands and a hat for your
head,
and bug sprays that will knock -them
dead. -
Oh yes, one thing that was nearly
forgotten, -
that's barnyard manure that is good
and rotten!
