Gossip
Gossip is such an evil thing
It travels fast on its silent wing ,
Never 'getting, any less
It puts many an innocent soul to test
Gossip usually 'starts with "I think"
It travels so fast it raises a stink ,
. That can be smelled in every corner of
town
For some' innocent person to try to live
down
So why start something that ign't true
Some day it may even happen to you '
So never try to give gossip a boost
Nine time out of ten it will come home to
roost; •
if someone tells some gossip to you
And you have your doubts that
It could be true -
Just put it silently away '
You have done your good deed
for the day, •

t looks toward recreation development
A public meeting was held April 6 and the,
decision made to form and organization and
incorporate it to work towards the develop-
ment of the recreational .areas in Port
Albert.
The village has four acres of land that the
Township of Ashfield has made available to
us which could be developed into a ball dia-
mond, tennis courts and meeting centre
with the help of government grants.
The plans were given enthusiastic en-
dorsement by everyone and the organiza-
tion's board of directors were chosen as
follows: Don Dickson (president), Paul
Doherty (vice-president), Pete Petrie
(treasurer), Nancy Corkum (secretary),
along with the following directors: Joanne'
Turner, Randy Maize, Charlie Crawford,
Diane MacLean, Bessie Bellinger and Eton
Hodges. The forms were filled out to incor-
