to table tennis and volleyball
Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 3 class welcomed
art co-ordinator Mrs. Gra.harn last week
and had a great time learning how to make
God's eyes from wool and how to weave us-
ing wool and straws'. Some super belts and
scarves have been produced. •
Mrs, Cameron's Kindergarten class are
talking about the mast important person, -
"me". They are learning their addresses,
phone numbers and all about their
families..
Mrs. Young's Grade 1-2 class 'has been
working on Winter Word booklets and
Animals in,the Winter, Tile Grade 1 group
had been doing subtraction stories to Sand
the Grade 2 group has been counting by
• 2's, .5's, and 10's.
In Mrs, Tebbutt's Grade 6 class; thanks
to Fred McCabe, they have a special addi-
- tion to their Science. Unit, animal 'cover -W
in. gs. Fred brought in a fox skin which is
on display in their Science Centre.

Mr. Liddle's Grade 6 students are in the
middle of a novel study on the book •'I am
David." ' Speeches are being rehearsed to
prepare for the public speaking contest.
The latest theme topic is Gonflict`versus
Consequences and many ' activities are
underway. We are viewing the visual
novel called Midnight is a Place. In
mathematics the children are learning
how to operate fractions! As well, we are
involved in watching Trade -Offs, a video
series` that involves problem solving in
monetary areas. .
'We have 'sta'rted preparing • for our an-
nual table tennis tournament which should
take place some time in March. Interested
students in Grades 5. through 8 are, com-
peting in a double elimination tournament.
Our houseleague program is well under-
way. OUr senior 'students (Grades 7-8) are
busy playing broomball and. roadhockey
during the lunch period, and the, juniors
(Grades 4-6) are competing in volleyball
during the recesses.
As well, .our juniors are practicing their
volleyball firing the lunch period, in
preparation for the volleyball tournament
which is the week of'February 9,
