A community shower was held for Sherri
Bachert, bride elect whose wedding takes
place early next month to Phillip McKinley
of Dungannon North Ireland.
The hall was decorated in white and pink
for the special occasion on Thursday even-
ing. Heather Baan was in charge of the
guest book.
Helen Craig was chairperson welcoming
everyone and was in charge of the program.
Kim and Sherri Baan sang a duet accom-
panied by Heather Baan at the piano. Shan-
non Craig played a piano solo. Worthwhile
Words of Wisdom was read by Mary Baan,
followed by Heather Baan playing the piano.
Helen Craig conducted an elimination con-
test, the last one standing was Tammy
Driscoll. Marie McGavin led in a very lively
sing song accompanied by Marjory Hum-
phries at the piano.
Helen now called the guest of honor,
Sherri, her mother Mrs. K. Bachert and the
groom's mother, Mrs. G. McKinley to the
chairs at the front, along with Sherri's
sisters, Sheila and Shirlee.
Tammy driscoll read the address and
many gifts were presented to Sherri by girls
of the community. Sherri 'made a suitable
reply thanking everyone for the lovely gifts.
All the bows were put on an apron, then put
on Sherri as a tradition, later a picture vas
taken. Everyone joined in singing For She's
A Jolly Good Fellow, followed by a delicious
dessert, and coffee or lemonade served by
the boundary and 17th line ladies.
Mary Humphries and Viola Traviss were
greeters Sunday morning at Duff's United.
Marion Godkin was organist. Offering was
received by Graeme Craig and Brian
McGavin.
Rev. Bonnie Lamble was in the pulpit, her
daughter Sarah assisted in reading the
scriptures.
Next Sunday is the last service till August
30, as the Minister will be on holidays.
In September special events are Bluevale
United Anniversary, September 13 at 11
a.m.; Walton Anniversary, September 20 at
11 a.m., Sunday September 27, Sunday
School awards.
Children can attend Bible School in
Brussels, July 27-31 and Bluevale, August
10-14, 2 4 p.m.
Local News
Nicol Machan, Goderich visited a few
days last week with her grandmother, Viola
Kirkby.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Achilles, Jennifer and
Kevin and friend Sherri visited on Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Achilles.
The ladies slo-pitch ball annual tourna-
ment was held at the Walton Park this past
weekend. Due to the storm that hit this area,
Sunday evening, I was unable to get the
report of the event, hopefully we'll have it
for next week.
The Walton Area Sports Club want to
thank all those who helped at the booth this
past weekend.

Hullett will be meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 1987 at
8:00 p.m. in open session at the Council Chambers to
fill the office of Councillors This is to fill a vacancy on
council due to the resignation of a member of council.

member for the remainder of the current term, and who is qualified
